I'm not as good with the numbers as most of you are, I just play the game as it is and don't really look too much into the numbers and strategies (I'm letting the GM gameplan). But my starting FS for the Falcons, Jimmy Williams (30/49) High Volatility, was injured, and my back up SS played over him for two games, and he played really well grabbing two interceptions, and making five tackles in each of them. Which one should I start?

I have another one of those scenarios with my QBs. Byron Leftwich is a 21/25 quarterback with Very High Votality. He was only playing because Harrington was out for four weeks with a strained calf muscle. Harrington got injured in the first game of the year, and we ended up losing that one when Leftwich threw four interceptions and no TDs (ended up with a 0.8 QB Rating). but then he won two games in a row. Harrington is a 46/46 with Very High Votality. Which one should I start?

So basically I don't know how I should play my players... through ratings? or Performances?

I tend to look at stats over ratings, but that's just me.

I'd start the back up SS for a few more games. Those are pretty good numbers, especially the picks, so I think IRL he would be your starter for at least a little while longer. You could also set his playing percentage at maybe 60% so that the "normal" FS gets some time.

When you say Leftwich "won" two games in a row, would you say that he did an outstanding job in those games, or was he mostly handing off? Either way I think I would go back to Harrington...especially if he's making a ton of dough. With Leftwich's ratings being what they are, he will eventually return to the 20/25 QB.

I realize I appear to have contradicted myself in the previous 2 paragraphs, but unless Leftwich was throwing for 300+ yards in those 2 wins, I'd go with the better ratings in this case since they are so drastically different.
