My in-laws are treating the wife and I to a trip to Vegas this spring. I've never been, and so from looking at old threads here, it seems the Venetian is a good place to start. Do they still have $1/$2 NL tables? Any other places that are good? Thanks!

I played poker in Vegas for the first time this past weekend. Played at the Venetian and Imperial Palace. The Venetian was very nice, definitely had 1/2 NL tables. I just played O8 there though, was surprised to find it. Tough game though, at least for me.

IP was much smaller and more aged, but fun. Very good looking cocktail waitresses with the outfits to match.

If you are looking for a tournament, Lathum and I liked the structure at the 4 times per day tournaments at Planet Hollywood.

It's been a while since I played there but I liked the poker room at Caesars.

Cold. It's like I wasn't even there or something.

I'll be staying at the Venetian next Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue. I usually play at either the Bellagio or Planet Hollywood at the 1/2 NL tables. This will be my first time staying @ the Venetian, and I'm pretty excited. The rooms sound/look very nice, and last time we were in Vegas we saw Phantom @ the Venetian and I was impressed with the whole place. We'll be staying in one of their concierge suites, where you get free booze and prime views...maybe I'll post some pics when I get back.

Anyways, good places to play poker have already been covered in this thread. I like the wide open feel of MGM, but if you prefer a true set aside poker room, then Ceasers might be the best way to go. The Bellagio has some pretty damn good players, and if you watch the WPT or WSOP you may run into the familiar faces there too. I just about always leave having doubled or tripled up @ PH or MGM, but @ the Bellagio it's 50/50.

God I love Vegas.

Are you going to the poker show they have at the Ventian? I'm wondering if it's any good.
