Ran across this utility, still in beta, while on the SI boards. It builds tactics using wwfan's TT&F guidelines. Here's a screen shot..

Fill in the top 5 boxes using drop down menus, hit "load preset" and you are given all of the settings for your base tactic. Right now all you get is this screen to look at so you would have to manually enter the values into the tactics screen in wwsm\fm.
The maker hopes to have the utility save tactics files in FM's format "some time next year" saving you having to input all of the data. Will be very cool when done and you can develop your whole tactic, excluding set pieces, on this one screen and just save the file in your tactic folder.
The beta version is a stand alone exe, no installation required. He said he developed it on vista but it runs fine on my xp machine. It can be found here.. Tactical Theorems & Frameworks Tactics Builder - FM-Britain (http://www.fm-britain.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=9047&st=0)
The bad news, you must be registered at fm-britain to d'load the file. But since it still is in beta and not complete he is looking for any bug reports and also feedback on what else users might want included.

Looks like it. Kind of useless for me as it is right now...hoping he can get the tactic file thing to work soon.

Agreed, once it can save an actual tactic file it will be a great utility for FM.
As for me I don't find it useless as is. I like being able to see all player and team instructions on one screen. Makes it easier for me to see the overall picture and is something you can't do in the game. This allows me to tweak a tactic, all on one screen, and then input the settings into the game.

But Sweed - in the big .zip download is an excel file in which you can do all of this as well.
Maybe the difference is that this looks a little bit cleaner than excel?
That being said - if it can save as an actual tactics file someday - wow...fuck me that'd be awesome

Can you host the file so non-registered FOFC'rs can get it, please :)

Yeah, for me it's cleaner and easier to use. I am a learn as I go, and only learn when I have to on the computer. I have no excel skills (well I use open office but does the same things) so when I do use it I hack my way to what I want to get done.
I saw wwfan posted in the thread and seems to be helping althaz getting this done. I don't think programming wise (pretty sure he's not a coder IRL) but with advice. My hope is since wwfan appears, with all of the ME testing for fmlive and fm, to have a connection with Paul Colyer that maybe althaz can get some help from SI with the format saving a lot of time, trial and error.
But who knows? With Sega involved and SI wanting to protect their code (rightly so) they won't or can't offer any help?

I don't have a place to host it, nor do I even know how if I did;)
wwfan posted this about releasing the utility elsewhere when quesioned about it at the SI forums.

It's currently only in an early Beta stage so is being restricted to the site. Once it is ready for a wider release we will host it on our ftp server which won't require membership.
If you want to PM me an email address I could send it to you.

If that ever pumps out a tactic file I would get a prolonged woodie.

Pretty cool utility, worth taking the twenty seconds needed to register even if Gary Neville Is Jesus never winds up posting on FM Britain.
