600+ Hattrick cheaters caught in 1 week!??

Yikes,

I noticed some suspicious activity on the transfer wire and went looking for someone to report it to, when I found the statistic on main GM page. 600 was the "rounded down" number of cheaters caught last week. Talk about a full time job.

What did I find? 3 teams, (A, B and C) had made 12 purchases from team D in the last month, and only from team D, for players that, uh, sucked, 1K players or 0K bought for 5 or 6K, like that, originally bought by D for 1K. Maybe D thinks if he keeps the transfers small enough it will be ok, but I sure hope not.

Anyone else found activity like this, dealt with the GM's, etc?

That is a lot...and I (think) just caught someone cheating...I am proud of myself, I even reported it...
This 'new' team is currently bidding on 2 players form another team, and both bids were very very overpriced so I decided to check out the 'new' teams transaction history and he has already bought 2 players from that other team....so it is very suspicious and looks as though someone is cheating. Jinzo FC is bidding on 2 players from the other team (right next to each other in the transfer list) and is bidding $68k for a passable defender...and $19k for a poor keeper.

Edit Again: I just checked the IP for the 2 guys- and the first 5 #s (what hattrick shows) are the same...

I've reported some really obvious cheaters... brand new teams buying dreadfully bad players for nearly $300,000. No-brainers.

Exactly what I was thinking!!! Crap, it's flicking free internet soccer management game, for crying out loud!!! The stupidity in some people will never cease to amaze me!

Simply can't conceive that people really need to cheat ona a free, no prize for the winner kinda game... Oh well, we don't all hold ourselve to the same standards in life...

Well, perhaps a good majority were owners of multiple teams. Then there are those who have teams in countries other than their own (I don't see any of us having that problem since the U.S./Canada is pretty short in the waiting list, but if your a Swede it may be mighty tempting to pretend your Irish or Welsh).

Then there are the nasties, collusionists, who up their cash flows using "donor" teams.

I'm just glad I'll have a brand new team this season now that I have an idea of how to run a team.

Qwik, I could understand a guy who would really really want to pay and who stays within the rules, but plays in another country, it's the nasties, collusionists, and other "perverts" (okay bad word, but you get my drift) that I don't get. Are they really getting high on the possible "fame" of winning in Hattrick??? Oh well...

In all honesty, I don't see what is wrong with having multiple teams if you don't interact with your other team, but I can see where a conflict of interest may show up...I also don't see a problem with someone playing in another country but if you are stuck in a waiting list while someone else is playing that should have been waiting with you, well...I guess you'd be upset, I mean a week or two (I heard Sweden may take up to a month) in internet time is like an eternity.

My new team is still not alive yet, as I'm on the waiting list...I feel that the Qwakers while competitive were in massive debt, and would have been mauled later, I just wasn't happy with my players because I suddenly realized how important form was and such, so I waved a white flag, contacted a GM, and "sold" the team...I'm excited at the prospect of a new team, fresh capital, a firm grasp of game dynamics, and regardless of whatever division, I know I have a good group of owners to spar against.

The team is called the Ultra Nox and when sales are finalized I'll let you all know (perhaps, gulp, in the form of a dynasty, NO NOT ANOTHER ONE!!!)

This seems fair, depending on their age. I bought two passable keepers for 111K (132K + 90K = 222K C$ so 111K U$) two weeks ago, but the 90K one was 26 years old. I sold him back last week for 128K C$.

As for switching to keeper training, it really all depends on their age and the quality of your coach. Hattricks (http://www.databased.at/hattrick/index.asp) says you can pop a 17 year old a level of goalkeeping in 5 weeks with a solid coach. So you could hit the bank in as little as 5 weeks. Also, some other more experienced hattrickers could tell you if one of these keepers is close to solid only by looking at the player's value. But I'm not as versed in keeper evaluating...

Mac, then you could be looking at having a first solid keeper in 6 weeks or so if your coach is "solid", add one week for every level below "solid".

For your other keeper, that would be 2 weeks later. The rule of thumbs is fairly simple. Find the number of weeks for the particular training you're looking at from Hattricks, then add one week per year of age over 17 and one week per level below solid for your coach...

In the meantime, D has used his ill gotten funds to purchase some decent looking player.

I suppose I will now be obsessed with this situation until I see evidence of Hattrick doing something about him, thinking of nothing else until justice is done. Then, I'll probably scour the transfer lists of every team in division IV to root out whatever evil lurks in that venue. Maybe I should just get a bottle of Jack Daniels, put on a wife-beater, and watch the first season of NYPD on DVD. Why is the room spinning?
