I usually play without the headset when I encounter any of those options.
Annoying as hell.

The new party system on XBox Live is the best addition ever to online gaming. Seriously. It greatly improved playing online...much like TiVo greatly improved watching TV. I am big fans of both ;)

And don't forget to use the feedback system on Xbox Live, it does help you avoid those folks in the future (although the party system will probably help more...)

i can be racist on occassion, but that's among friends. i don't try to pretend i'm tough saying racially offensive things from the safety of my own home. sometimes i've called out some midwestern punk for dropping too many n-words, i'll say "if a black person was standing in front of you right now you wouldn't be talking like that, you'd be looking at the ground trying to avoid eye contact". that usually gets everyone to laugh.
