Shane Dronett, a member of the Falcons 1998 Super Bowl team, was found dead in his Gwinnett County home Wednesday.
Dronett, 38, was a defensive tackle for the Falcons from 1996-2002. Police responded to his Sugarloaf Country Club home in Duluth. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of his death.
“The investigation is still ongoing relating to the cause and manner of death,” Ted Bailey, the Chief Forensic Investigator in Gwinnett County, said.
Dronett was an All-American at the University of Texas and was drafted in the second round by Denver in 1992.
Dronett, orginally from Bridge City, Texas, leaves a wife and two children.
Services are pending at Claybar Funeral Home in Texas.
