what's the fucking point.

Basically so one day your head doesn't explode when you blood pressure gets too high to keep inside your veins.

I try to get lightly salted or less salted things whenever I can.

And eat enough of those salted nuts, and you can change that maxim to "Live each day like it's next Thursday." :)

I'm not a potato chip person, but someone came over my apartment with a bag of "lightly salted" Lay's chips, and wow, they were 1000x better than the normal ones.

I don't add salt to alot of things, but there are certain things that when I eat them, they better damn well be salted that includes peanuts, popcorns, pretzels.

Unsalted pretzels? What circle of hell are those from?

It blew my mind how much salt is in soda (or pop, depending on where you're from).

Sorry, was more thinking the large hot pretzels that you get where the salt has all fallen off or the person didn't take time to put enough salt on.

Hell, it blows my mind how much salt is in ordinary food. If you go out to eat for lunch, it'll destroy your daily intake of salt... regardless of where you go.

Bah, the proper way to eat peanuts is to eat the whole thing, shell and all.

Just be thankful you did not pick up a can of the "slightly salmonella" peanuts.

And then throwing their shells on the ground underneath your seat at the ball game. That's definitely the proper way to eat peanuts. How many days until Spring Training? :D

If you eat the shell, I believe it would then be considered rude to "deposit" it under your seat. Perhaps an arrestable offense.

You know, I think you and I were reading that line above slightly differently ;)

I'm a saltaholic. I put it on everything I can. At home, I don't even use table salt - I use huge-grained sea salt on everything. My food always looks like it has snow on it. Of course, when I'm cooking for others, I don't use nearly as much salt in the preparation.

At my last doctor visit, my blood pressure was a bit low (105/75 or something like that), so I must be totally immune to the effects of sodium.

I don't put salt on fries. I put it in the ketchup and then dip the fries in that. I learned that from John Travolta in White Man's Burden.

I much prefer plain, unsalted peanuts, to salted peanuts.

You realize that 1 tablespoon of ketchup contains 8% of your daily sodium, right? (edit: of course, that's BEFORE the extra salt)

And yes, you can call me Mom :p.

That's why I add the salt. I want to make sure I'm getting the full 100% at once. I ain't got time to make sure I get my 100% for the day. :)
