I cant stop anything when the other team is in a hurry up? If anyone is successful, could you pass on a few tips?
Thanks

I take it everyone is in the same boat as me or they dont want to share.
In the next version there should be a screen for both offense and defense that relates to this very important time of a game. Especially at half time.
And how can teams complete long passes when your team is in prevent?

John Madden: "the only thing the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning."
I believe he is totally right.
Are you talking about MP league with the AI calling plays? Then I'm the wrong guy to answer.
But from my experience in SP calling my own plays, I have the impression that a solid combination of coverages and blitzes gives the best results. Too much of the same and FOF will kill you. That is sometimes my problem because my believe in high pressure/blitzing defense doesn't seem to be fully shared by FOF2007, but that's fine, just need to adapt to it.
What works quite good for me is doubling the opponents best WR. As another thread showed, the throws into double coverage do tend to have a lower completion pct (even though I get furious every time when I read "...throws into double coverage. ... makes the catch."
hope that helps...

But it isnt my decision to go prevent. My coach makes that call. And I agree about prevent defenses not working. But if my safeties are deep that should help eliminat the 40 yards pass. Possibly limiting it to 20 yards.

There's a lot of factors here including the talent of each of your defensive players, the motivation of the opposing coach and possibly yours, their QBs two minute offense rating.
Maybe you could tweak your dime and nickel personnel? Spend more time in camp on team functions (I think that's the motivation one).
I find my guys give up some plays but in general are able to get a rush on the passer and only give up short plays, usually. Maybe your D line can't generate much of a rush, and so when your linebackers go into coverage you're suffering?

What level of endurance do your nickel/dime guys have? As far as I'm aware, there's no substitution in nickel/dime sets, so there's the potential for the performance of your defence to drop off significantly late in the game if you have a few players with low endurance in your nickel/dime depth charts, particularly if they're starters in your base defence as well...

That's an interesting idea. I haven't been able to puzzle out exactly how substitutions work in those packages. Interesting to look at.

You were watching the SuperBowl, right? Arizona ate up Pitt while Pitt was in the prevent defense.

There are no subs for Nickle/Dime formations that I am aware of.
