View Full Version : PROPOSAL: We need a Quote of the Moment Review Board

Given some of the things that I see and what I've seen other members post about some very questionable Quotes of the Moment, I'd like to propose a review board for these things. Perhaps three members can be nominated to serve as the reviewing folks.
Personally, I think many of them put a very poor face on FOFC. I know that's an opinion not shared by many of you, but it does rub me wrong.

I think someone's mad they have no quotes :)

I'd like to be a part of this review board. Perhaps it could have rotating membership.

But then wouldn't we just be the UN? Then it'd be useless.

I doubt it would accomplish much except perhaps ending the QotM feature. There aren't too many things I can think of that would get unanimous approval, and we've already got more than enough divisive subjects to fill a forum without opening contentious debate over which quotes are allowed/disallowed. Then there'd be the debate over who served on the quote approval committee.
And really, the only approval that matters or is needed IMO is that of the board mods/ops.

Easy's just upset because his Kleenex quote would be the United States of the QOTM United Nations, and would automatically be targeted by the rest of the hateful nations for its imposing ways.

How about no political or religious quotes? Those usually seem to be the most offensive and probably the least funny overall.

How about requiring quotes to me nominated for QOTM by an outside party (meaning not yourself) then requiring a certain number of yay votes over a certain number of nays. Then we can endlessly debate the nature of said quote and it's level of humor and tastefullness. After that is said and done we can all look back on it and try to remember why it was funny in the first place.

We'll do a better job of modding QOTM's. Too many have gone through that probably shouldn't have. Until recently, we were just automatically letting everything through.

And thus another QotM was born...
