Hi all, I've been playing FOF for a few weeks during which time I've been reading the boards frequently. So far I've been able to find needed advice with a simple search this is something I haven't come across yet.

I'm in my third draft so far and following the advice I've found on these boards I tend to look for guys with good combine ratings (that are important for their positions) rather than guys with high blue bars. The problem is that almost everyone I interview using that criteria is then determined to be overrated/very overrated. I have one or two underrated and a handful that are hard to read/as scouted. This has remained pretty constant through my three drafts and I hence seem to be having trouble spotting "creepers" that have fallen in the draft rankings.

Does anyone have general advice on spotting these that may be underrated rather than overrated? Should I be looking specifically for players with low blue bar ratings and hoping that they are better than they seem?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! :)

First off, your scout may simply be wrong. I use interviews mostly for the narrowing of the bar ranges, not for the under/over rated bit (well, that and getting a QB's intelligence rating to help figure out the avoid INT rating).

Otherwise you also want to pay attention to what attributes the combines map to, as it's not just good combines you want, but good combines in the right areas. Determining if combines match bars is a key part, and finding mismatches can also give you hints as to whether or not the guy is better or worse than his initial scouted bars show.

FOF Mythbusters: What the heck do these combines mean, anyway? - Page 2 - Front Office Football Central (http://operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=61098&page=2)

This thread lists the best guesses as to what combines correlate to what attributes. Some consider this a "spoiler" so heads up for that. I consider it something that should've been in the manual.

I don't generally do many interviews at all. Too time consuming. I may do a few if I'm looking at a few players I rate similarly.

I have shifted my interview focus pretty substantially toward:

-guys who have a maxed-out blue range in an important area
-intriguing combine skippers
-affinity matches, where the personality strength will guide his value there

I pretty rarely depend on the interview to tell me much of anything about the players that I know I'm interested in. Much more useful for guys who are on the bubble of my interest, for reasons like those above.
