This came from some missionary friends of mine who live in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Just to give you a flavor of the sort of demonstrations they're doing in Kalimantan, I'll tell you about one that happened a few days ago in Balikpapan while we were there. About 200 people, dressed in matching outfits to show their political party alliance (elections are coming up), walked in rows up the hill road to the Unocal oil company complex to present their conplaints in writing to the CEO, expressing their greivences about the attack on Iraq. They carried an effigy of George Bush (a mask for the face/head and big stuffed body). Everything was quite orderly and calm until the effigy was set on fire. All of a sudden one of the men just went balistic, yelling and running around. THe CEO asked his interpreter what the young man was saying (imagining it was something about the evils of America or murdering Bush). The interpreter grinned and quoted the man:" That's MY pillow !!! Don't burn my pillow !!!"
