Hi,
I finally got my team set up to go all the way! I hope.
But, my young star QB, 82/82, is still holding out 6 games into the season.:banghead:
He is in the last year of his contract at six million cap cost.
His agent wants 78 million for 5 years, 34 million is bonus money.
Do I accept the new contract? Negotiating did not help.
Do I wait until next year and franchise him at 8 million?
Do I hire someone to put a horses head in his bed?
What would you do?
Merry

He's a star QB. Pay him. How is this even a question?

+1.

A star QB is the most important thing you can have in FOF IMO.

It's not as if the money's coming out of your own pocket. If you want to have great players in your team, you gotta show'em the green. :p

I dunno. If he started in 1960 or something that's an outrageous contract.

Even if the dollar figures suck, you just frontload the shit out of the deal, and scrape it down to like a 5 year 60-65m deal, and add a significant amount more in bonus money. If your starting stud QB has a long painful injury and loses his ability, I'd much rather eat it hard one season with massive dead room, and position myself near the top of the draft to get another QB.
