So most of you know I run a residence hall for Wayne State U here in Detroit. One of my maintenance guys has his father is the hospital, and today at two he got a call from his brother that their father had just passed. My worker is destroyed, he is falling down while walking and I am just holding him for a few minutes in the hallway. He goes the hospital to find out that it was all one big April Fool's Joke played by his brother.

There should be criminal penalties for some levels of stupid.

I'm hoping it's your story that's the April Fools joke, cause that just can't be serious.

...played by his brother.
I'd be an only child a short time later.

Im a Pacifist, and even I would be sorely tempted. I would need much praying to keep me straight, and I'm not sue that I would be successful. And no jury would ever convict you for battery with just one punch in that situation.

When he got to the hospital and found his brother is the biggest dickhead in the world he should have turned the table. Call him up and tell him that he is at the hospital and they were shocked at how quickly he had arrived, as they didn't know the family had been contacted yet.

Jesus.......his brother really got him good!
Some might say it can't get any more grandiose than that. But, true champions rise to the challenge. He should try to bribe his brother's doctor to give him a false cancer diagnosis.

The only tooper would have been to get a cop to pull a Powell on him as he raced to the hospital

No, have the hospital call him and say his brother suffered a fatal heart attack after coming to the hospital and finding his brother had pulled a April's Fools joke on him.
EDIT: This assumes the borther wasn't at the hospital already and really, why would he be?
Another fantastic reason to call it the worst day of the year.

He should take his brother to small claims court to recoup any lost wages.

He yelled at his brother and cursed him up and down, and then felt bad about it afterwards. He's a good guy.

At least he doesn't regret punching his brother in the face. Good for him.

This. I haven't acted in violence toward someone since the 9th grade, but I think something like this would push me to that point.
With brothers like that, who needs sworn mortal enemies?
Fucked up.

Jeez, how old is his brother? Death is nothing to kid around with, what an a-hole.
