Is that the Bad Astronomer guy? I like him, but his mocking of religion grates on my nerves.

It is.
I've learned that with him, as with many things in life on the internet, you need to take things he says with a grain of salt. He's one of those people who thinks that science and religion are incompatible...once you get filters in place to get around that, he can be quite interesting.
Anyway, the post on his blog actually contains a link to the "Florida Citizens for Science" contest. (insert obvious joke here about science in Florida)

Oh, I do find him interesting. I go to his site and read his board quite often. Also, I always enjoy when he's on Coast to Coast.

In retrospect, maybe I should have entered. My current state of sleep deprivation would, I feel, have added the necessary touch of surrealism.

I hate to say it but most of the entries suffer from not-funniness. Also, was this supposed to be about promotion evolution because I think all of the entries did that and it's like the scientific equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel. Why not something more interesting?
