View Full Version : Can't Create HTML For Box Scores

I just purchased FOF earlier today and have been looking through the forums here and downloaded some historical rosters etc.

I've started my first save as the Bears from 1985, my favourite team and their finest season. So far I'm 6-0-1 (14-14 tie with Atlanta) but try as I might, I just can't seem to Create HTML to view box scores and game logs.

My laptop is running Vista so I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new here so apologies if there's an answer to this somewhere already.

Same as all the other Vista issues: you didn't make the leaguehtml folder writable by you, so all the data is ending up in the Compatibility Files area. Check for a button at the top of the Explorer window.

Thanks for the response.

I've fiddled about with the folders unticking the read only tab and I also went into the sharing tab and messed a bit there. Anyways, i get a web page created in the leaguehtml folder that opens fine when doubleclicked but when I click on the box score icon in game it still opens a page not found in my web browser.

I'm probably still doing something wrong but at least I can get to the information I want so I'm happy enough.

It has nothing to do with read-only or sharing and everything to do with Security. Try that tab and follow the directions in the Vista FAQ for that folder.

Or install FOF outside of Program Files.

Ahhh right... :S

Will I be abke to simply move the FOF folder out of Program Files or will I need to uninstall and reinstall?

And if I uninstall will need to uninstall the licence too or will the reinstall pick it up?

Sorry for being a noob. Damn Vista!

It's not Vista's fault. XP had the same issue, but allowed Administrators to write there, so everyone made their accounts Administrator and kept going. So developers kept saving things into Program Files rather than My Documents. When Vista closed the loophole to help fight viruses, those progams got caught. You still have the manual workaround of opening security per folder, or can install to another folder if it really causes an issue.

Best is uninstall/reinstall if you want to move folders, otherwise utilities (like mine) can't find it. The game will PROBABLY run fine though if you just copy the folder.
