The Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals camp to be chronicled on 'Hard Knocks' - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4166836)

This is an interesting decision.

I just hope Chad Johnson Ocho-Whatever isn't camera shy during this.

I read this earlier and got a good chuckle out of it. Everyone must have turned them down since I'm guessing the Bengals are towards the bottom of the list. Good teams probably consider it a distraction and the head coach wouldn't agree to it unless they have no influence like in Dallas.

I would agree. Can you see New England, Pittsburgh, or Indy letting them in? I wouldn't be surprised if this show ceases after this year.

Bellichick would never allow that. I wish though, that an established team like Indy, Pittsburgh, or the Giants would do it because I think it would be pretty interesting to see. Young teams that will contend like Atlanta would be good to watch but the coach wouldn't want that distracting a young team. They just have no other options except Jerry Jones and teams that have nothing to lose.

The reason they contacted Cincinnati was apparently because this is the AFL 50 year anniversary, and because of the legacy of Paul Brown.. The team does have a lot of interesting storylines developing as well, with Palmer and his elbow, Chad and whatever he does, a couple of rookies who will either bust or be great in most peoples opinions, the Roy Williams signing and attempt at career resurrection, and Mike Zimmer, who is apparently a sailor. :)

Its most definitely a new team and they made big strides defensively last season with no offensive help and no pass rush, so it will be interesting to see what the camp is like and whether the players they have now are mature enough to deal with the constant eye of the cameras.

I think it'll make for good TV, but I am biased. Always wanted to see this with the Bengals as the subject after the first season they filmed in Dallas.

Plus, there's always the possibility of a high-speed police chase to liven things up.

I'd just leave a cameraman at the police station for the inevitable arrests.

Actually they've wanted to do the Bengals a couple times before this but Marvin wouldn't let them at the time stating that the team "wasn't mature enough to handle it"

Please don't say things like this when I'm drinking...I have a new keyboard.

I will agree they do have some interesting stories, but most of the country won't get past Bengals. I'm a Palmer fan, and would really like to see him repeat the success he had in 2005. After the 06 AFCCG, the 05 Colts-Bengals shootout was the best game I've ever seen live.
