Hey friends,

we have decided to release OOTP 10 during the first week of June! Also, the pre-order period will end in a few days, so in case you have not preordered yet, this is your last chance to save $10 and get the game two days prior to the official launch! :)

I just noticed the Ratings creator where you can enter the stats of a player and it will convert those stats to ratings. Really nice little tool there that should help with future roster files.

Looking forward to giving this thing a spin.

Just a quick question, really. The rosters that ship out of the box will be a new experience each time? I'd assume there is some sort of XFactor in development, but want to make sure it's not easy to predict success on fringe players. Basically for an online league purpose.

In an industry where the trend is to squeeze every last possible dollar out of the most hardcore followers, OOTP actually rewards it's fanbase with preorder discounts. Crazy but awesome.

This would be nice to know as well. I always liked that FOF had that X factor. although the factor was sometimes a bit too drastic.

Yes, in OOTP it is always like that. I don't even think you can remove it.

Not a ton of interest around here it seems in OOTP. Based on the lack of traffic on the OOTP board I'd guess many missed this thread.

I ordered. Haven't played an OOTP game since the very first version way back when. That was also my first text sim. Though I did play manage only careers in Larussa Baseball.

I was really hoping for it to be released this weekend. I'll be on vacation in a couple of weeks, so I'll have some time then.

Wikipedia says it's out June 2. Hopefully that means I can play tomorrow having preordered but I don't have that much faith in it happening.

Marcus and others say they don't post anything on Wiki, so that's not official. I tend to agree with whoever posted that they will release next Friday, with the preorder folks getting it Wednesday. But I hope I'm wrong.

I didn't preorder and I'm not 100% sold on buying. I'm waiting for some impressions here along with the first patch or two.

The lack of text sims over the past couple years has really dulled my excitement for these games more than anything else.

yeah , me too until you posted this I had not thought about it but I never play any text sims or any other sports games on a PC or console at all these days.

Looks like according to the boards, they are eying a Wednesday pre-release for people who preordered, and Friday for everyone else.

I'm trying to figure out how many 'Alrighty boys!' threads will go up simulaneously on this board when the release goes out. I'll put the over/under at 3.

At the very least, if it's not coming out today, I hope Marcus says so, because the "couple of days" comment from 2 days ago - subject to beta's comments on the final release candidate - suggests pre-orderers should get it today. And if not, a quick explanation should be given in the update thread over there.

I'm at work, so I'm not going to be able to do much with it until tonight at earliest, anyway.

I believe the notification for the pre-ordered customers is going out via email. So no real reason to keep refreshing the forum unless you really just enjoy hitting F5 repeatedly. :)

Markus has said it is going out later today in public posts, so I assume my saying that here doesn't violate my NDA any either.

Didn't get my preorder email yet, but got my review copy a few days ago, and got notification today that the release-day patch was available, so...balances out, I guess!

He got a version that went out a couple of days ago. There was a new patch since that time that fixed a small number of things between then and the pre-release that everyone else got.

There is no new patch yet for the released version of the game.
