Is it premature? Maybe...but who cares. I've been waiting years for this.

Well ladies, it's official. Here's what I was able to gather from EA's press conference at E3 today.
- up to 32 people can participate
- drafts can be done in real time
- you can access the franchise (and hopefully make changes) from your 360, PC, or even an app on the iPhone (now this is cool)

Jesus Christ that's cool. I think the NFL is the best game for online franchises. Does it have the regular features of franchise like being able to trade draft picks and stuff? Any idea how free agency is done?

I'm sure it has features like trading draft picks because they touched briefly on roster moves and trades and such, but regarding how FA is done...I dunno hopefully it's up to the commish.

Here are the highlights of the online franchise from what I've read:
- You can set depth charts, propose trades, etc via the web utility, the iPhone app, or the actual game.
- 32 people can participate.
- You can use their "fantasy draft" tool to run drafts or you can do a live draft.
- Full stack tracking will be available via the web or the game.
They also mentioned that the "Extra Point" will be hosted by Fran Charles and Alex Flanagan from the NFL network.
Looking forward to getting our online franchise(s) going.

Also to clarify, you may be able to trade draft picks for draft picks, but you can't trade players for draft picks...at least not at first. However, they are saying that since the entire Online Dynasty is server based they can add features down the line, so it may eventually be an option.

There are conflicting reports on this. From reading some sites, I think that you can trade players for picks before the draft, just not during the draft. At that point, it has to be picks for picks. Of course, if it is a trade between 2 human controlled teams, you can make a trade with a binding understanding.

If they can run a live draft on the web and we can make the time during work hours, I might actually have to jump into the league...

The iPhone app is really cool. The draft picks aren't a huge deal for me but would be nice to see sometime down the line.
On the full stat tracking, is that like a gamecast or just the ability to see the league stats online?

I'm fairly sure it was just talking about being able to see accumulated stats on your computer or iPhone.

A little bit more info from an ign article on the feature:
- Up to 3 players/picks can be traded for 3 players/picks at a time. Future picks can be traded.
- The commish has to approve every single trade or it doesn't go through.
- A fantasy draft option is available for the beginning of the league and is an alternative to starting with the "real" NFL rosters.
