My wife and I both have old cars, 1999 Honda and Saab

Air Conditioning doesn't work in either. We took both in for freon, but were told that new compressors were needed, that we cannot afford at this time....

My wife says that there is a product that Pep Boys sells, that is a can of something that you somehow inject into the air conditioning unit?

has someone heard of this......?

and does it work?

thank you very much

not what you were asking, but a quick google

Yes, we tried it about a month ago because the air conditioning in our van does not work. I would imagine the stuff works IF nothing else needs fixing. In our case, we need a couple of things to be replaced (can't remember what at the moment). AC is expensive.

Give it a try, but be warned that if your ac does not work it could be something besides low/no freon.

Edit: I read your post again, and you said that you need new compressors. That is also what we need, in addition to a new gauge. Apparently the gauge is not telling the unit that there is pressure. While I know some things about cars, I know very little about the AC.

Air conditioning in the can is absolutely essential, IMO.

1999 is old? Ugh. :) Our car is a 1995 (the A/C works, though)!
