Anyone watching the Tour?
You have to love seeing cycling in HD on Versus. Plus this year's tour promises to be an exciting intra-squad battle on Astana between Contador, Armstrong, Kloden, and Leipheimer. And then there are the other contenders Evans, Sastre, the Schlecks...
Armstrong did OK in the opening TT, Contador and Cancellara were great. Really impressed with 4 Astana guys in the top 10.
Yesterday saw what everyone expected: Cavendish 1st, Farrar 2nd. Columbia just runs the perfect leadouts that nobody can rival.
In today's stage the sprinter's teams decided not to help Columbia chase the breakaway I think b/c they hoped Columbia would tire themselves out so they could beat Cavendish. Their plans backfired when the whole Columbia team ripped off the front of the field with 20 others in the crosswinds and held a 40s advantage to the line where Cav took his second in a row. All the GC contenders were missing... except Armstrong. He's the big winner on the day, and now sits 3rd overall going into the team time trial tomorrow. Totally eliminating any worries of the time lost in stage 1.
