Inspired by DataKing’s <i>Screamin Seamen FC dynasty (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7340) </i> and my recent obsession with Hattrick, I have decided to write up a dynasty report following my Hattrick team, Golden Eagles FC located in Mississippi and playing in V.167. For a basic background to Hattrick, please refer to DataKing’s original dynasty thread by clicking here (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4766).

<b>The Beginning </b>
Southaven, MS (AP) -- The mayor of Southaven announced today that a new soccer franchise will locate inside its city borders. The team, which will be named Golden Eagles FC, will play in Division 5, series 167. The team will face rivals in their league such as the Los Angeles Scullkickers and Deutsch Fire FC from Chicago. The team is named after a prominent Southaven resident, Tim Brice, whose nickname is the Golden Eagle. “Mr. Brice was critical in getting this franchise to the city of Southaven. We have a feeling that great things will come about to both the city of Southaven and Golden Eagles FC with Mr. Brice at the helm", said the mayor of Southaven. The team will play in Golden Eagles FC Arena, which will seat 7,000, and will be located on Church Road. The team’s first transaction was hiring of coach Howie Mcclelland, who is 49 years old and has excellent experience, and prefers a strong defensive game.

<b>Golden Eagles FC Player Profiles</b>
I was blessed by getting decent players from the start for my team. Still, we needed to make some acquisitions to improve the strength of our squad, especially at keeper and defense. The stats are listed after our first game, which was a 5-0 win over a DVI bot team (more on this later).
<B>First Team</b>
We will play a 3-5-2 formation. I think this is the best formation for a team at this time.
<i>Goalkeeper</i>
Jochen Schultz
Age: 22
Current Form: passable
Assessed Value: $191,000
Wage: $1 920 p/w plus 20% bonus
Goaltending: Passable
Werner Gretschmann
Age:19
Current Form: passable
Assessed Value: $182,000
Wage: 1 776 p/w plus 20% bonus
Goaltending: Passable
I have two solid keepers after starting with none. I paid a combined $134k for both of them. I am hoping after a week of goaltending training and some general training, one of them will improve to solid. I will then have the option of selling either one. I sold off previous starter Clyde Lorenz for $10k.
<i>Defenders</i>
Gabriel Dorsey
Age: 21
Current Form: weak
Assessed Value: $30,000
Wage: $690 p/w
Defending: passable
JC Vera
Age: 31
Current Form: inadequate
Assessed Value: $23,000
Wage: $760 p/w
Defending: passable
Jose Luis Larragoti
Age: 19
Current Form: passable
Assessed Value: $38,000
Wage: $700 p/w
Defending: passable
We bought Jose from MiddleSex Athletic for $38k. The defense pinches toward the middle, as none of them are really good wing backs. Plus the majority of the formations we play will be 4-4-2.
<i>Inner Midfielders</i>
Leonardo Chu
Age: 24
Current Form: passable
Assessed Value: $63,000
Wage: $890 p/w
Playmaking: passable
Passing: wretched
Per Jansson
Age: 32
Current Form: inadequate form
Assessed Value: $46,000
Wage: $1272 p/w plus 20% bonus
Playmaking: passable
Passing: passable
Hans Karrlind
Age: 29
Current Form: passable
Assessed Value: $66,000
Wage: $1322 p/w plus 20% bonus
Playmaking: passable
Passing: passable
I bought Jansson and Karrlind for a combined $101k. I think the midfield is strong, although I would like one more strong player when I clear debt.
<i>Wingers</i>
Gabriel Fernandez-Cuesta
Age: 25
Current Form: inadequate
Assessed Value: $40,000
Wage: $790 p/w
Winger: passable

Winger: passable
Passing: weak
Tyrone Pineda
Age: 25
Current Form: inadequate
Assessed Value: $30,000
Wage: $720 p/w
Winger: passable
Passing: poor
I feel we are very deep at winger, and I may look to move one or two.
<i>Forwards</i>
David Ortega Gutierrez
Age: 26
Current Form: weak
Assessed Value: $19,000
Wage: $660 p/w
Scoring: passable
Jackie Morin
Age: 23
Current Form: solid
Assessed Value: $50,000
Wage: $770 p/w
Scoring: passable
The strikers are strong. I paid $35k for Morin.
The rest of the players are B-team players and can’t help my team. They are either the on the transfer list, will be fired, or will be kept around for friendly matches.

<b>Season #1 - Cup Match 1</b>
The buzz surrounding the Golden Eagles FC was amazing as it headed north, way north, to South Dakota to face the South Dakota Apaches. The Apaches, a Division 6 team, is one that is still looking for an owner, as most Division 6 teams are. The Golden Eagles were trying to advance in the USA Cup and also of course win the first match of their franchise history. Despite, the long bus drive, the Golden Eagles were exciting about the match.
The starting line-up for the Golden Eagles FC, using a 3-5-2 formation:
Goalkeeper: Shultz
Defender: Lynn
Defender: Vera
Defender: Dorsey
Inner Mid: Persson
Inner Mid: Karrlind
Inner Mid: Chu
Winger: Arevalo
Winger: Fernández-Cuesta
Forward: Morin
Forward: Ortega Gutierrez
<i>Match Report</i>
5500 spectators arrived at South Dakota Park, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Apaches had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
After 8 minutes Golden put themselves up by 0 - 1 as Jackie Morin finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. The visitors Hans Kärrlind took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 24:th minute. 0 - 2 for Golden. Golden had obvious problems in finding their positions. The away team´s David Ortega Gutierrez took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 33rd minute increasing Golden´s lead to 0 - 3. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Golden, bringing the final ball possession rate to 83 percent, dominated the battle.
Golden -coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players looked a lot more organized. The visitors Jackie Morin took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 55:th minute. 0 - 4 for Golden. Golden appeared unsure on how to play. David Ortega Gutierrez was, after 65 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors lead with a well placed diving header but home side keeper Franklin Henson saved. The away team´s Jackie Morin took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 78:th minute increasing Golden´s lead to 0 - 5. By then Jackie Morin was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The structure of the game started to change as Golden decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. The referee showed Goldens Jackie Morin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Golden seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Seemingly due to lack of experience, Gabriel Dorsey needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Golden, bringing the final ball possession rate to 92 percent, dominated the battle.
<i>Final Score: Golden Eagles FC 5 South Dakota Apaches 0</i>
Goals
Morin(3) - 8,55,78
Karrlind(1) - 24
Ortega Gutierrez(1) - 33

<i>Comments</i>
Well, we expected to roll over this team but we were still nervous because we really didn’t know what to expect going into our first match. Luckily, we drew Alaska Samurais for the next round, who are in the same boat the Apaches are in. Still, I think we will need to pack a more offensive punch to be successful in our league. The confused players I think just had to do with the introduction of the 3-5-2.

Cameras swing around the room as a young reporter prepares to interview the Golden Eagles FC General Manager Tim Brice. The reporter looks nervous because he has been told that Brice has a very colorful personality and does not like reporters very much. The interview begins.
Reporter: Mr. Brice, you recently became General Manager of the Golden Eagles FC. Are you excited about bringing another Hattrick soccer franchise to the state of Mississippi?
Brice: Of course. I think the franchise has unlimited, untapped potential. The market is there to build a very solid team. I fully expect great things in the future.
Reporter: Can you talk about the recent acquisitions your team made?
Brice: Sure. We were very aggressive early in the transfer market. We felt like we had to bring in a couple of players at different positions to improve our squad overall. The keeper situation was poor when we started trying out players and since nothing was really available in the United States, we had to look abroad to bring in a couple of kids at that position. We also strengthened our midfield and brought in Jackie Morin up top, who had a hat trick in his first game.
Reporter: How was your club able to financially support all these transactions?
Brice: Well, we only started with $300K. We made some early rookie mistakes in the transaction market, but we have learned from these mistakes. I expect our club to be out of debt in a couple of weeks, especially if we can sell a couple of players that we have on the market right now. The debt will not hurt our club in anyway and we will continue to fully invest in our youth squad.
Reporter: What did you think of your opening win in the USA Cup over the South Dakota Apaches?
Brice: I think a lot of positives came out of the victory. First of all, it was great to get the first win in our franchise history. I think that was very important. Jackie Morin obviously had a great game and it was good to see him get established up front. But we also had some negatives and we will have to improve on these in the future. Our midfield did not play well and we looked disorganized at times. My club is taking the necessary steps to improve in these area of weakness with league play coming up.
Reporter: Talk about your league and what you expect out of it this season and in particular, your opponent on Sunday, the Wisconsin Badgers.
Brice: Well V.167 has several good teams. Last years winners, the LA Scullkickers return to the league this season after dropping their promotion match. I really feel they are the favorites to repeat again this year, although they made some very questionable decisions transfer wise. The Archers, who finished second last season will be strong as well and will really push for honors. They have a strong team and it is going to be tough to beat them. Deutsch Fire FC will also be strong. Those are the teams that I think will be competing for the league. Can we compete for the league title? Sure, if the cards fall our way and we improve in different areas on the field of play. The Wisconsin Badgers run a standard 4-4-2 and I think we can exploit them in the midfield. I expect a victory.
Reporter: Thank you for the info on your team. On a side note may I ask you a personal question?
Brice: No.
Reporter: Why are you nicknamed the Golden Eagle? Can you fly? Are you fast? Are you Golden?
Brice: No.
Reporter: Oh, um ok.
With that the interview goes off the air as the Golden Eagles FC prepare for their first league match against the Wisconsin Badgers.

I definitely have a dilemma training wise that I am facing. Last week I trained goaltending. If I start my 19 year old keeper Gretschmann and train goaltending over the next four weeks or so, I may can boast Gretschmann to solid, and given his age I could get $300K to $400K for him but other players suffer. I could take that money in upgrade my squad in different positions and I think I can get by with the current level of players. Opinions?

I would sell Gretschmann right now, pick up an inadequate keeper for around $10k, and then train an outfield skill...As it is now you would have to train goalkeeper for a while to get Gret. to pop to solid, and that only helps 2 players on your squad....Also, with if you sold Gret. for around $100k, then buy another backup thats $90k more you have in the bank that can either go to buying better players, or an arena upgrade, or maybe just be used to help stay out of debt.

I definitely need to find a source of income from somewhere. Right now I am close to $100k in debt, but I am selling a defender that I bought for $38K for at least $40K, so that will help get out of debt to some extent. I also have decent wing back that I am trying to sell for at least $70K. Even with that I am still going to lose $20K a week, maybe a little less, depending on attendance. I want to expand the stadium to bring in more income, but I obviously don’t have the money and probably will not for some time. The problem Gretschmann is that I would hate to see him as a formidable keeper a few years down the road. Oh, the debating of Hattrick. :)

Expand your stadium now, it lets you expand it all the way to 500k in debt. I brought mine to about 400k and then with one home game next week and hopefully 2 in the following (one league, one cup) it should bring me out more. I just don't see a way to make any cash and keep your team together somewhat with a 7000 seat arena.

<b>Season #1 - League Match #1</b>
The Golden Eagles FC squared off against the Wisconsin Badgers for the first league and home match in franchise history. The Badgers are an active team, but their owner is basically inactive. We expect our victory and I tell my players that. Let’s hope for the best.

<i>Match Report</i>
The crowd of 5116 turning up at Golden Eagles FC Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Wisconsin had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Golden took the lead in the 15:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Gabriel Dorsey elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. In the 21st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as David Ortega Gutierrez dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Golden. 2 - 0 was the half-time score. Golden held the ball, with a clear 85 percent possession rate.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Golden lead up with 3 - 0. Jackie Morin finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. By now Golden were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Golden seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. JC Vera wasn´t fit enough for a full game made several mistakes out of sheer tiredness. One of them was exploited by Son Mattingly who squeezed in 3-1. The referee showed Goldens José Luis Larragoiti the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Golden, with an impressive 87 percent possession of the ball.

<i>Comments</i>
I was disappointed with our offensive effort in only scoring 3 goals. We dominated possession wise and should have put at least a couple of more on them. I thought our midfield responded well and will only continue to play better. So, right now our offensive is our only concern and the fitness of our defense.

DataKing, thank you for your kind words.
Well, everything seems to be going well on the club front. The supporters are delirious and 14 new supporters signed up yesterday bringing the number to 534. We are also set to make close to at least $16,000 profit this week. Normally we will not turn a profit, and lose around $20,000 a week, but we sold a player for around $40k. The only solution to that is to spend about $200K on a stadium expansion, which I really do not want to do. We are also in the market to find a cheap solid scorer and we have a few possibilities. We will see how it works out.

Southaven (AP) -- The Golden Eagles FC prepared to border their charter flight late Monday night as the team headed north to play against the Alaska Samurais in the second round of the US Open Cup. “We are excited,” coach Howie Mclelland said in an interview on Monday. “We have been preparing for this game all week. I know a lot of people think we will take it easy in this match, but that will not be the case. We will play this game like a normal match. After all, it is our goal to advance to the third round in the cup.”
Jackie Morin, star striker for the Golden Eagles, praised the job Mclelland and his staff have done so far this season. “We have really played well in our first two games. We need more offensive fire power, but that is my problem, not coach’s. I think we will do well on Wednesday.”
The team will arrive on Tuesday and do a light training session. They will then play the match on Wednesday. Weather conditions call for overcast skies. Phillip Taylor, the coach for the Alaska Samurais, said he expects close to a capacity crowd for the game.
In a related note, General Manager Tim Brice did not make the trip. Brice said he needed to stay behind to work on club matters, but he would not specify. Brice said a press conference would be called soon to announce an important club matter.
In other club news, Werner Gretschmann, a keeper who has made one start this year for the club, was sold on Tuesday. The deal was for $90,000. Brice said he hated to see Gretschmann go, but felt it was necessary to help the club financially.

<b>Season #1 – Cup Match, 2nd Round</b>
The Golden Eagles FC advanced to the second round of the US Open Cup to meet the Alaska Samurais. The Samurais are a Division 6 team and computer controlled. We played a normal match with our regulars.
The starting line up for your Golden Eagles FC:

Forward: Ortega Gutierrez
<i>Match Report</i>
At Alaska Stadium, 7000 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Samurais tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
David Ortega Gutierrez surprised the home team with a free kick aimed at the wrong post in the 12th minute. 0 - 1 for Golden. In the game's 26:th minute Golden´s Joey Arevalo limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 29:th minute Golden goal, making it 0 - 2. Leonardo Chu was noted down as the scorer. The structure of the game started to change as Golden decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Samurais will have to do without Travis Wilson for a time due to a bad foot injury. He was substituted by Dean Mckinley. Golden came close to extending their lead as David Ortega Gutierrez delivered a long range shot from the right but the angle was to sharp, and the shot hit the side of the goal. The visitors Jackie Morin took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 40:th minute. 0 - 3 for Golden. Samurais´s Dean Mckinley left the field after 42 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Walter Harlow. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 3. Golden held the ball, with a clear 68 percent possession rate.
After 66 minutes of game time José Luis Larragoiti received an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Garrett Finn was in the right place, tipping the ball to a corner. Jackie Morin increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 4. In the 77:th minute Golden put themselves up 0 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. Scorer was Gabriel Fernández-Cuesta. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area, but at last Golden´s Joey Arevalo was able to shove the ball in. 0-6. Golden increased the lead to 0 - 7 as David Ortega Gutierrez scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. In the 81st minute Goldens José Luis Larragoiti received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Golden, bringing the final ball possession rate to 75 percent, dominated the battle.

<b>Season #1, League Match #2</b>
The lads are prepping for their second league match against the Partizan Jug. It is our first match against a “real” team, so I am bit nervous about it. Plus the fact that it is on the road has me worried as well. I know we need this win to keep up in the standings.
The starting line-up for the Golden Eagles:
Goalkeeper: Schultz
Defender: Lynn
Defender: Vera
Defender: Dorsey
Inner Mid: Persson
Inner Mid: Karrlind
Inner Mid: Chu
Winger: Pineda
Winger: Fernández-Cuesta
Forward: Morin
Forward: Ortega Gutierrez
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and JNA Arena saw a crowd turnout of 8924. Partizan tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
In the 14:th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and David Ortega Gutierrez put the ball away for 0 - 1. The referee showed Partizans Paul Messer the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Gabriel Fernández-Cuesta went down after a savage challenge, but could keep on playing after some medical attention. Johan Karlell really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal after a corner, but he lost his nerve. Mats Johansson was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the enemy box - Hilbert Hurenkamp managed to kick one of them into 1 - 1 in the 25:th minute. Many thought Johan Karlell ought to have been awarded a penalty shot in the 28:th minute, as he went down trying to circle the visitors keeper Jochen Schultz. After 32 minutes Golden put themselves up by 1 - 2 as Jackie Morin finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. In the 32nd minute Partizans Mateo Sanz received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. In the 32nd minute the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 3 as Jackie Morin finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 3. This part of the game had been a standoff between the teams.
Brad Jefferson of Partizan received a yellow card in the 60:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Elton Vasquez challenged the visitors full backs eagerly, producing a good chance in the 62nd minute as he went for a through ball combination. But as so many times before, the guest´s defensive efforts got the best of it. Partizan had a brilliant opportunity to reply as Johan Karlell received a high ball from the right, striking the ball still in the air. Only Jochen Schultz´s reflexes saved him. Partizan, bringing the final ball possession rate to 70 percent, dominated the battle.

Wow. It wasn’t pretty but we managed to get the job done. I was surprised we played so poorly, but I will definitely take the win on the road. <b>Season #1, Cup Match Round 3</B>
We were set to host fellow FOFC member condors in a match that pitted the D5 Golden Eagles FC vs. D4 Flying Condors. The players were excited to get a chance to both advance and to get to play against a D4 team. We didn’t know what are chances were coming into the match but we knew we had to play well to record a victory, even if it was at the Golden Eagles FC Arena.
We played normal and used our regular starting line-up.

<i>Match Report</i>
Due to an all-day shower, 7000 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Golden Eagles FC Arena.
In the 15:th minute the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as David Ortega Gutierrez flipped the ball after a cross pass from the right. Golden put their lead ahead another goal as Tyrone Pineda struck home the 2 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. In the 32nd minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as David Ortega Gutierrez dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Golden. The structure of the game started to change as Golden decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Yong Kheng-Hwa could´ve grabbed a goal in the 36:th minute when he got a pass putting him free of the home side´s defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 0. Condors, bringing the final ball possession rate to 57 percent, dominated the battle.
The referee showed Goldens David Ortega Gutierrez the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Golden will have to do without Hans Kärrlind for a time due to a bad foot injury. He was substituted by Thomas Shook. Condors´s August Herrington could, in the 82nd minute, reply with the 3 - 1 goal on a penalty. George Craven had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team´s goaltender Jochen Schultz just wouldn´t surrender. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Condors, with an impressive 73 percent possession of the ball.

<i>Comments</i>
Our lads did themselves proud tonight. I am happy for the club and I am sure the supporters and sponsors will take the news of our victory well. I thought this was our first real challenge and we stepped up to the plate. The injury to Karrland hurts a lot, as Shook is not a great player. We will see what we can do with that and hopefully the youth pull can step up.

<i>Other Club News:</i>
The Golden Eagles FC are also proud to announce a new stadium expansion. The expansion will now allow the Golden Eagles FC to accommodate 16,110 fans. We are very excited and hope the stadium will help to bring us out of debt. We will have two matches at home next week, so that should be a great start.
Our fourth round match-up is against Timewar of Division II. It was an unlucky draw but it should be great experience for the lads, in addition to brining in money at the gate.
<I>Training update:</i>
Currently we are training defending, as that is our best mix of young players. We will most likely look to run a 4-5-1 down the road and this should give us a good start. However, if our youth pulls start to be good young midfielders, we may look to train playmaking.
We picked up this player off the transfer market:
Dan Hatton
Age: 18
Current Form: passable
Assessed Value: $11,000
Wage: $540 p/w
Winger: passable
Defending: poor
We picked him up for $2k. If we can get him some matches in at defender then I think he can develop into a good wingback.
<b>Up Next:</b> League match vs. fellow FOFC member White Sox Pride.

<b>Season #1, League Match #3</b>
This week we faced our toughest competition to date in league play, fellow FOFC member Aesyrqwe and his team, the White Sox Pride. We knew going into the match that we were going to be challenged on our home pitch. With an injury depleted midfield and our lack of a serious offensive threat, we were very worried about the match.

<i>Match Report</i>
The crowd of 7795 turning up at Golden Eagles FC Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain.
White had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially in the 7:th minute when Marc Good came up alone against Jochen Schultz who managed a block. Golden created a good opportunity to score in the games 34:th minute when Thomas Shook`s hooked ball created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Golden´s Gabriel Fernández-Cuesta refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 36:th minute. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 0. Golden held the ball, with a clear 58 percent possession rate.
52 minutes into the game Danny Williams had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Tony Bowling. In the games 69:th minute David Dewitt almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a spectacular scissors shot just past the bar. After 72 minutes, Elmer Crockett swiftly ran past José Luis Larragoiti to put away the 0-1 goal. Golden held the ball, with a clear 61 percent possession rate.
Golden´s best player was Per Jansson. Thomas Shook on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating White player was without a doubt Jerald Obrien. Arnold Crabtree on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 1.
<i>Final Score: Golden Eagles FC 0, White Sox Pride 1</i>

Sorry for the delay in updating, but I have four papers due tomorrow. Amazingly, I got them all done.
Anyways, to the action of the Golden Eagles FC. We were playing our toughest match of the year, against TimeWaR, a Division II team. Quite frankly we expect to get wiped off the pitch. But we were still going to go out there and give it our best shot. We were awarded $44K in attendance for the match.

<i>Match Report</i>
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12472 to Golden Eagles FC Arena.
15 minutes into the game Gabriel Dorsey had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Nicky Ridley. A mistake by the home sides central defence in the 23rd minute allowed Don Boyce to score 0 - 1 for TiMeWaR. Goldens Thomas Shook got himself booked after a foul. TiMeWaR were forced to a substitution as Arthur Dolan couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment. In the games 33rd minute Carter Deluca nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through and fired from just outside the box, his shot passed just over the bar. TiMeWaR´s Artemio Gonzalez made it through the home teams defence in the 33rd minute, and had only to place the ball in an unguarded goal when the home side´s defender sprang up from the left, clearing the ball on the line. The referee showed TiMeWaRs Carter Deluca the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Halftime score was 0 - 1. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by TiMeWaR, with an impressive 76 percent possession of the ball.
The visitors Jae Green took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 59:th minute. 0 - 2 for TiMeWaR. By now TiMeWaR were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Jackie Morin of Golden received a yellow card in the 60:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 61st minute TiMeWaR goal, making it 0 - 3. Hans-Dieter Jakobs was noted down as the scorer. Håkan Claesson of TiMeWaR received a yellow card in the 63rd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Golden´s Leonardo Chu refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon in the 75:th minute. The away team´s Hans-Dieter Jakobs took advantage of a mistake to the home side´s right in the 79:th minute increasing TiMeWaR´s lead to 0 - 4. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, TiMeWaR´s Unto Pelttari got himself booked. In the games 82nd minute Örjan Utterer nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through and fired from just outside the box, his shot passed just over the bar. TiMeWaR, bringing the final ball possession rate to 89 percent, dominated the battle.
<i>Final Score: Golden Eagles FC 0, TiMeWaR 4</i>
<i>Comments</i>
Well, it wasn’t too bad. I guess it could have been a lot worse. Our supporters took it the wrong way as they are furious and six left the club. Our lack of offense is hurting our club (more on this later). Gabriel Dorsey’s injury was not serious and he will be healthy in time for our critical league match on Sunday. So we count our blessings that no one was hurt and take our $44K and go home.

Havok, thank you for your kind words.
So we find ourselves in a tough league match against the Archers, and it is a critical one. The standings right now in V.167 are close between the 3rd, 4th, 5th placed teams. With prize money and having to play for demotion riding on this game, we must find a way to win, or at least get a draw on the road. I know its early but we still need to play well.

<i>Match Report</i>
Due to an all-day shower, 6008 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Longbow Field.
Archers made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in from the right hand side left Louis Carbone completely alone with keeper Jochen Schultz, who made a spectacular block. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 13th minute goal by Johnnie Gross for Archers, putting them ahead 1 - 0. In the 17:th minute Goldens Leonardo Chu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The home side´s Scotty Devore came close to extending the lead in the 26:th minute. His shot came in off the right hand side but Jochen Schultz managed saving with a fingernail. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 0. Archers held the ball, with a clear 60 percent possession rate.
In the 55:th minute Archers put themselves up 2 - 0. The visitors defenders lost the ball to Johnnie Gross coming up from the left, who proceeded to cooly round the goaltender and knock the ball home. The referee showed Goldens José Luis Larragoiti the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Archers, with an impressive 72 percent possession of the ball.
<i>Final Score: Golden Eagles FC 0, Archers 2</i>
<i>Comments</i>
We have now given up all hope of being promoted this year, which could be a good thing. We will now focus on just building a squad slowly, instead of trying to rush things. We are slowly building up the youth squad and trying to climb our way out of debt. I think our best hope is to switch to a 4-5-1 or even a 5-4-1 for the future. We have listed Jackie Morin and David Ortega Gutierrez to try to bring in a combined $100k.

<i>Match Report</i>
344 spectators arrived at UltraNox Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Golden seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. Many thought Steve Delay ought to have been awarded a penalty shot in the 15:th minute, as he went down trying to circle the visitors keeper Cutberto Ferrari. Steve Delay was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner which then was extended byTravis Sousa, but the ball went into the frame. After a fine move down the middle Tord Emilsson nearly gave the home side one up in the 25:th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. Ultras Steve Delay got himself booked after a foul. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 in the 34:th by a breakthrough from Choochai Rochana, who unaided came in out of the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors keeper. Halftime score was 1 - 0. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Ultra, with an impressive 93 percent possession of the ball.
The Golden players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization. In the 73rd minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Choochai Rochana dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Ultra. In the games 73rd minute Ultra´s Choochai Rochana fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Choochai Rochana for taking a dive. Ultra seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. In 80:th minute of game time Ultra´s Choochai Rochana received his second yellow card and was sent off. The game was close to savage at times, and Ultra`s Steve Delay received a second yellow card in the 83rd, his ticket out of the game. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 84 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Ultra. However, Cutberto Ferrari made a spectacular save. Ultra, bringing the final ball possession rate to 95 percent, dominated the battle.
<i>Final Score: Golden Eagles FC 0, UltraNox 2</i>
<i>Comments</i>
Wow we were lucky to only lose 2-0. UltraNox completely dominated us up and down the field. Oh well, we will hopefully reap the benefits in training and move on. I would like to thank Qwikshot for the match and wish him the best of luck throughout the season.

Well, we couldn’t just sit still on the transfer market. We wanted to sell Jackie Morin and David Ortega Gutierrez for a combined $100k, as we were disappointed with their offensive production. Well, do to a server crash they only brought in around $33K. Very disappointing.
However, we made a couple of new additions:

Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities
Stamina: poor Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: poor
Winger: passable Defending: inadequate
Scoring: weak Set Pieces: wretched
A wing back/defensive trainee. However, once he gets his form up, he could find a starting spot on our team. We paid $10K for him.
Goran Stankovic
38 000 US$, 19 years, passable form
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities
Stamina: weak Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: poor
Winger: inadequate Defending: inadequate
Scoring: poor Set Pieces: poor
Goran will also be a defensive trainee, who can slide out to a wing back position if deemed necessary. We paid $13K for him.
We also picked up a striker after our first two sold:
Mats Ehngren
39 000 US$, 26 years, poor form
Has poor experience and poor leadership abilities
Stamina: inadequate Keeper: wretched
Playmaking: weak Passing: wretched

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre-Game
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 5517 to Golden Eagles FC Arena.
§Panda§ had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
1st Half
§Panda§ had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially in the 2nd minute when Reg Kahn came up alone against Jochen Schultz who managed a block.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out.
Maybe this was why Phillip Keeler found unusually much space for his snappy footwork.
Per Jansson of Golden received a yellow card in the 4:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The referee showed §Panda§s John Ryan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Halftime score was 0 - 0.
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by §Panda§, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.
2nd Half
In the games 52nd minute Jonah Mckenna almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a spectacular scissors shot just past the bar.
Golden could have put themselves ahead in the 58:th minute as Leonardo Chu missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
As Stefan Silverman had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Golden player a red card without batting an eye.
Albert Loyd of §Panda§ received a yellow card in the 85:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by §Panda§, with an impressive 59 percent possession of the ball.
Post Game
The most dominating Golden player was without a doubt Gabriel Dorsey. Zane Devore on the other hand, had a terrible day.
§Panda§´s best player was Wes Foley. However, Don Hernandez made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 0.
<i>Final Score: Golden Eagles FC 0, §Panda§ 0</i>
<i>Comments</i>
How disappointing. A draw. We need a win. Our offensive and midfield woes continue to punish us. Their keeper is horrible but we couldn’t punish him. We have to find away to create more chances and finish them. We have no money so that is not the answer. We did have our best midfielder and best striker injured but that is no excuse. Next week we have to travel to play Deutsch Fire FC and then we have rubber matches against the league leading LA Skullkickers. Things are only getting tougher.

<i>Weather:</i> Partly Cloudy
The Golden Eagles FC hop on the bus and head to Virginia against a formidable opponent in the Fairfax Fizz in our last preparations for the FOFC Cup . We will face the Fizz’s ‘A’ squad. He has a good winger in Steve James and runs a 4-4-2 formation.
The Golden Eagles will send their ‘B’ team into the match, with the exception of defender Jose Luis Larragoiti, who was red carded and had to sit out the last league match. We want him to get training and hope that he is close to popping to solid in defending. Per Jansson will also play in the depleted midfield.

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre-Game
446 spectators arrived at Fairfax Fizz Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Fairfax started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Diaz - Moore, Schneider, Elkins - James, Porter, Braun, Singh, Jeremy - Pereda, Sharp.
Golden had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Ferrari - Silverman, Ridley, Larragoiti, Hatton, Pineda - Devore, Shook, Chu, Fernández-Cuesta - Ehngren.
First Half
Fairfax made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in from the right hand side left Russ Sharp completely alone with keeper Cutberto Ferrari, who made a spectacular block.
Fairfax were awarded a penalty 9 minutes into the game but Yeray Pereda produced a poor shot, quite easily saved by Cutberto Ferrari.
In the 14:th minute Fairfaxs Benjamin Porter received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The Golden player was Thomas Shook who had to be helped off the pitch, unable to finish the game.
Golden´s Mats Ehngren gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead in the 22nd minute with a superb strike from the right.
Per Jansson came close to extending the visitors lead as he, completely unmarked in front of the goal, lifted a ball over Dennis Diaz, hitting the bar.
0 - 1 was the half-time score. Fairfax held the ball, with a clear 51 percent possession rate.
2nd Half
Due to some great work on the right wing Fairfax:s Yeray Pereda was able to even the score in the 58:th minute to 1 - 1.
This was a good period for the visitors with several opportunities to take the lead, in particular when Leonardo Chu slipped through the defense to come up alone with Dennis Diaz - but the home side´s keeper showed some lightning reflex
After 76 minutes Fairfax´s Russ Sharp contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game.
Golden seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team.
Fairfax, bringing the final ball possession rate to 57 percent, dominated the battle.
Overtime
After the regular 90 minutes, the agonizing of overtime followed.
The 93rd minute saw the home team take a 2 - 1 lead after a leak in the visitors right side defense. Scorer for Fairfax was Dominick Jeremy.
This put an end to extra time, making Fairfax the winners.
Post Game
Most important Fairfax player was Steve James. Colt Elkins on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Golden player was Per Jansson. Dan Hatton was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 2 - 1.

It was a good friendly for both teams. It gave our B team a look against a quality opponent which will help in the FOFC Cup. We also managed to sneak some offense in, which is great considering our offensive woes lately. No players really helped themselves out and Thomas Shook is out for 3 weeks with injury. I would like to thank Bee and his Fairfax Fizz for hosting the match and having us. Best of luck the rest of the season!
I would also like to give a ‘shout-out’ (I am cool :)) to Dataking for the great dynasty format I am using. All credit should go to him.

<i>Weather:</i> Overcast
The Golden Eagles FC headed north to New York for a league match against Deutsch Fire FC. The team took a charter plane for the trip, which the team was thrilled about. However, tragedy almost struck the club as a backup midfielder Zane Devore, making his first ever plane trip, almost fell out of a window. While details were not readily available, it is understood that Devore is shaken, but ok.
The match this week is an important one. We are currently 4th in our division, and Deutsch Fire FC is 5th. However, we are tied with point total. That total is 7. The winner makes a case for themselves and the loser throws themselves into facing a likely promotion/demotion match.

First Half
In the games 3rd minute Golden´s Goran Stankovic fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Goran Stankovic for taking a dive.

Halftime score was 1 - 0. Deutsch, bringing the final ball possession rate to 59 percent, dominated the battle.
Second Half
Deutsch´s Derrick Swaford had an excellent opportunity in the 48:th minute, shooting on a through ball, but he missed the goal by miles!
In the games 52nd minute the visitors levelled to 1 - 1 as Goran Stankovic struck home on a bar rebound, following a shot from the right.
In the to 67:th minute a very unfortunate collision in the home teams penalty area led to Golden´s JC Vera being carried off the pitch and replaced by Nick Ridley.

We will take the win. It took a couple of breaks but we pulled it out and with the way things have been going at Golden Eagles FC lately, we will count our blessings for the win. It puts us at a solid 4th spot, which we are happy about. The only bad thing to come out of the win is JC Vera is out for four weeks.

I think White Sox Pride did well to earn the draw on the road, and will se them again in a couple of weeks at home. In the meantime, we will play back to back matches with the LA Scullkickers. Hopefully we can get a couple of wins, which would make our supporters ecstatic and put us right back in the hunt for the league title. Archers continues to beat up on the easy part of the schedule, but he plays White Sox Pride the next two and that will be the end of his run. We will get through with the tough part of schedule over the next month or so and play the weaker teams toward the end. This should bring momentum to the team next year.

The Golden Eagles FC opened Group M of the third annual FOFC Cup against Grantdawg’s Newtown Rams.
The news before the club was that keeper Jochen Schultz and an assistant coach yet to be identified decided to play a joke on recent youth pull Steve Albright. The pair tied Albright up to a locker and doused him with water coolers, all while singing German tunes. Albright was so humiliated that he quit the team. Rumors were he would be getting his walking papers anyway. Coach Howie Mcclelland stressed that disciplinary action would take place if he saw it to be necessary.
The club fielded its defensive trainees for the match as well as a mixture of starters and reserves. Some players are playing out of position but we feel confident going into the match.

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre-Game
341 spectators arrived at Golden Eagles FC Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Golden had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. They fielded: Schultz - Stankovic, Ridley, Pineda, Hatton, Silverman - Chu, Jansson, Larragoiti, Fernández-Cuesta - Ehngren.
Newton tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Estrada - Skogstrand, Walton, Steen, Sueiro - Mills, Johansson, Herrero, Sosa - Falcon, Estep.
First Half
Golden were very close to putting themselves one up in the 2nd minute as José Luis Larragoiti got through, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
Seemingly due to lack of experience, José Luis Larragoiti needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
Many thought Goran Stankovic ought to have been awarded a penalty shot in the 9:th minute, as he went down trying to circle the visitors keeper Stanley Estrada.
Newton took the lead after 16 minutes with 0 - 1. Stanley Estep placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
The referee showed Newtons Lloyd Walton the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Golden had obvious problems in finding their positions.
What ever got into Nicky Ridley, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through the own defense - ending up right in front of Newton´s Mike Mills, who easily put the ball away for 0-2.
0 - 2 was the half-time score.
Newton, bringing the final ball possession rate to 57 percent, dominated the battle.
Second Half
Golden -coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players looked a lot more organized.
After the ball got lifted in from the left Stanley Estep was on his own in the home side´s penalty area 51 minutes into the game, and should have scored, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
Stanley Estep increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3.
The structure of the game started to change as Newton decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone.
After 62 minutes Mats Ehngren could have reduced had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors keeper Stanley Estrada.
Newton held the ball, with a clear 65 percent possession rate.
Post Game
Golden´s best player was Per Jansson. However, José Luis Larragoiti made a disastrous appearance.
Newton´s best player was Bill Falcon. Alex Sosa on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 3.

Well, we got our butt kicked the first game of FOFC Cup III. I would really like to do well, but its obvious training should be more important. That is not taking away anything from GrantDawg’s team. Well, there has never been another week of training like this around the Golden Eagles FC club. Sigh. Apparently the Golden Eagles ran of gas and couldn’t hold on to the draw in the second half. We also did not finish the chances that we had. This loss hurts. We have to go on the road and play this team again next week. Another loss is not acceptable.

Man, except for a larger arena, that financial update could be a carbon copy of mine. :)
Let me recommend picking up one economist. It'll cost you 1500/week, but at that level of debt, will make you in the 1800-2200 range, for a $500 net, give or take a couple hundred. I know, cuz that's the level of debt I'm at. :)
Obviously, a couple hundred extra bucks isn't gonna make or break you, but it can't hurt to get what you can.

The second match of the rubber series with the LA Scullkickers will be played today. It is an important match, but quite frankly we do not expect to win. A loss today would in all likely hood drop us to 6th place. Not an ideal situation. But all games from here on out are certainly winnable if we start clicking. A 3rd place finish is not out of reach if the breaks go our way.

First Half
Golden´s Stefan Silverman could have put the guests one up in the 30:th minute, chasing a through ball but Philip Johnson was fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
After 30 minutes ScullKickers´s Frankie Switzer contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game.

Um being in his league i can say that he should be able to beat §Panda§ and DFFC, although those matches would be pretty close. I dont think he will be able to beat Archers though... Little Tech and La acadamia are no better than bot teams, so if he plays them while archers, DFFC and §Panda§ beat eachother up, he should move up to at least 4th..

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre Game
Due to an all-day shower, 192 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Golden Eagles FC Arena.
Golden tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. Lineup: Ferrari - Silverman, Ridley, Chu, Pineda, Hatton - Devore, Jansson, Shook, Fernández-Cuesta - Schindler
Mississippi tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Calatayud - Hargrove, Hall, Siegel, Gibson - Vaughan, Werden, Obrien, Mathis, Dotson - Hummel.
First Half
Franz Schindler, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
The referee showed Goldens Nicky Ridley the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
This was a good period for the visitors with several opportunities to take the lead, in particular when Everett Hummel slipped through the defense to come up alone with Cutberto Ferrari - but the home side´s keeper showed some lightning reflex.
In the 34:th minute Golden had a chance to take the lead by an awarded penalty, but Franz Schindler´s shot was blocked by Pedro Calatayud.
In the 37:th minute Goldens Per Jansson received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Mississippi had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team goaltender Cutberto Ferrari saved Norman Mathis´s shot headed for the top corner.
The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 0.
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Mississippi, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.
Second Half
Mississippi took the lead in the games 51st minute with 0 - 1 after some elegant plays down the middle. Perry Siegel was the scorer.
Blake Hall could have added one to the visitors lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower.
Golden's Zane Devore scored 1 - 1 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net.
Unsportsmanlike behaviour by Per Jansson rendered him his second booking of the match, and Golden had to finish the game with a reduced squad.
In the 70:th minute an unfortunate play by Cutberto Ferrari gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Richard Obrien, finding himself alone with the keeper, was unable to take advantage of the situation.
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Mississippi, with an impressive 87 percent possession of the ball.
Overtime
Not having decided a winner at full-time, the match went into extra time.
Willem Werden received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 94:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score.
100 minutes into the game Everett Hummel was a hair´s breadth away from giving Mississippi the lead. A prompt block by Cutberto Ferrari saved the home team that time.
After overtime the game was still at a tie, and a penalty contest ensued.
Golden´s Franz Schindler made no mistake. Pedro Calatayud didn´t have a chance. 2 - 1.
Mississippi´s Blake Hall cooly put the ball past Cutberto Ferrari. 2 - 2.
Golden´s Leonardo Chu was seemingly taken by the gravity of the moment, producing a badly laid penalty, blocked by Pedro Calatayud. Score still 2 - 2.
Mississippi´s Everett Hummel, obviously having last minute doubt´s, produced a loose ball to the right post. Unfortunately Cutberto Ferrari made a premature move to the left and didn´t make it back. New score 2 - 3.
Golden´s Thomas Shook hesitated a long time before shooting a penalty going just wide of the left post. Still 2 - 3.
Mississippi´s Bud Dotson was seemingly taken by the gravity of the moment, producing a badly laid penalty, blocked by Cutberto Ferrari. Score still 2 - 3.
Golden´s Nicky Ridley seemed nervous, putting the ball to the centre of the goal. Pedro Calatayud however, made an early dive to the right, the ball passing him. 3 - 3.
Mississippi´s Willem Werden had nerves of steel at the penalty, changing the score to 3 - 4.
Golden´s Stefan Silverman looked insecure all the way from laying the ball down to clipping the ball miles wide of the crossbar. No goal.
Mississippi´s Richard Obrien hesitated a long time before shooting a penalty going just wide of the left post. Still 3 - 4.
Post Game
The most dominating Golden player was without a doubt Stefan Silverman. Nicky Ridley was a disappointment, however.
Most important Mississippi player was Blake Hall. Perry Siegel was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 4.

Today we hosted the Deutsch Fire FC, a team that is in the same position we are. A win and we are right back in the thick of things. A loss and we can consider it a serious set back. Let’s see how things play out.

Good win from the good guys at Golden Eagles FC. We are still in 6th place but in a lot better shape. Next week we play Pandas and we think we will devise some sort of game plan to get the win. We will be on the road, however. A win will move us in a good position.

The Golden Eagles FC hopped on the bus and took about the six hour trip south to the Big Easy. The club was really looking forward to the trip in America’s #1 party city. The team took to Bourbon Street on Tuesday night and just about everyone got hammered. German goaltender Jochen Schultz was even arrested after streaking down the street and shouting expletives in German, all while having a Heineken in his hand. As a result, the expected to get hammered on the pitch.

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre Game
731 spectators arrived at Complex Spikes Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Complex tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Lastra - Tévez, Thying, Dillen - Still, Gallant, Popa, Vahtramäe, Gaare - Abu Salim, Bartram.
Golden started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. Lineup: Ferrari - Hatton, Ridley, Pineda, Fernández-Cuesta, Silverman - Schindler, Shook, Chu, Ehngren - Devore.

With a shot floated in from just outside the penalty area in the 32nd minute, Joonas Vahtramäe of Complex evened the score to 1 - 1.

Complex´s Stig Gaare left the field after 37 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Patrick Blakely.

A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Complex´s Nico Dillen putting the lead up to 3 - 1. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 1.

A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Complex lead up with 4 - 1. Mohd Zaidi Abu Salim finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle.

Carlos Saúl Tévez increased Complex´s lead to 5 - 1 from a penalty spot cannonball.
A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 81 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Complex. However, Cutberto Ferrari made a spectacular save.
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Complex, with an impressive 79 percent possession of the ball.

Heh. Too much partying and the fact that are B team just plain sucks. We are pretty much out of the running of the FOFC Cup, but I really do not have a problem with that. We are using these just for training. Problem is our trainees suck and when we get some money we will invest in some defensive players.
<i>Other Club News</i>
Youth Pull Antonio Carcel sold yesterday for $86k. We received $79,120 from the deal. This sets up an interesting scenario because it means we are now under $200k in debt. I have made a personal promise not to go back under this line again. Hopefully, I will be able to honor it. Once I get out of debt, I will make the promise never to go back into it again. I might sell my two best defenders, Dorsey and Larragoitti to help dig myself out of the whole. We will see.

I should have PICed the match. In hindsight, I would have. But we will take the 7-0 win but not let it go to our heads. Our next match is at home against the Archers, a team we must beat to avoid playing a qualification match. Hence, it will be the match of the season for us. Archers has a weak midfield and a decent attack. But if you can match them in the midfield you can beat them. Hopefully this will be the case.

Deutsch Fire FC pulled off the upset of the LA Scullkickers. Looking back on it, I could have played that team better as well. Oh well, you learn for next year. White Sox Pride now has a commanding lead. That is good, because I will not feel guilty if I beat him in a couple of weeks. As you can see, we could get stuck with playing the qualification match, something we do not want to do.

The Golden Eagles FC this week faced a tough opponent in the Archers. Archers are third in the league and boast one of the league’s better midfields. They have some weaknesses on the time, however, and we will look to exploit them. You might recall that when we played Archers earlier this season, we lost 2-0. Now that the match is at our place, we are looking for different results.

Victory! Despite not having no events in the second half, we won the match 2-0. I am really disappointed we pulled back after leading by just two goals. But I guess our coach felt like it was too important of a match to try to be scoring goals. The win moves us into a three way tie for third place, but we would be playing the qualification match as of right now.

Readers: GoldenEagle, who is this Dean Lander kid?
Good question. Here he is:
Dean Lander

Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities

We may have overpaid for him a bit, spending $40k. But he bolstered our attack ratings greatly. We can also train him in defense, as he is still in a trainable age.

Today we host China Town. China Town is owned by one of my friends from school. I got him addicted to Hattrick. He, in return, got his two brothers addicted. Isn’t it funny how the Hattrick circle of addiction is completed? :D
A mistake on my part means we will be running a 4-5-1 today. Dean Lander is unlucky because he does not get defensive training.

Well we met China Town’s A-Team and we played decent against them, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. We blew that lead, and that is cause for concern even from our B team. Our B team is now still winless. They should improve, however, when defender Daniel Ukenings returns from injury. Dan Hatton is out for two weeks.

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre Game
16300 spectators arrived at White Sox Pride Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
White tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Obrien - Williams, Tate, Petkov - Gah-Fat, Crabtree, Baugh, Björkén, Hansson - Dewitt, Merrill.
Golden had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Schultz - Stankovic, Larragoiti, Silverman - Pineda, Jansson, Kärrlind, Chu, Fernández-Cuesta - Lander, Ehngren.
First Half
In the 1st minute Hans Kärrlind surprised the opponents with a 40 metre pass to Tyrone Pineda who quite easily could settle the score to 0 - 1.
White´s Frank Merrill made a successful breakthrough attempt in the game´s 6:th minute and should have levelled the score, but clipped it over the bar.
After 12 minutes David Dewitt made a dash down the middle past the away teams defenders scoring 1 - 1.
The 15:th minute saw the home team take a 2 - 1 lead after a leak in the visitors right side defense. Scorer for White was Frank Merrill.
Hans Kärrlind caught everyone off guard with an opening pass - but unfortunately Tyrone Pineda was as surprised by the move as anybody else, and managed to miss the extraordinary opportunity.
A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in White´s David Dewitt putting the lead up to 3 - 1.
The structure of the game started to change as White decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone.
The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 1.
White, bringing the final ball possession rate to 64 percent, dominated the battle.

White held the ball, with a clear 74 percent possession rate.

<i>Comments</i>
Well we used our Match of the Season and we lost 4-2. It is a disappointment. It proves to me that I will have to go out and get some more help in the midfield and attack if I expect to be in Division IV in Season 21, which is our club goal. It is not that fart out of reach if we can just get our youth squad producing quality talent, preferably in the midfield. I was surprised that keeper Jochen Schultz gave up four goals in excellent form.

This week we host hooahs, a team that is new to V.167. The owner for the hooahs is yet to log in. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Golden´s José Luis Larragoiti putting the lead up to 2 - 0.
In the game's 14:th minute hooahs´s Neil Summers limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
José Luis Larragoiti received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 16:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score.

After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, hooahs´s Shaun Holman got himself booked.

The Golden player was Hans Kärrlind who had to be helped off the pitch, unable to finish the game.

Golden, bringing the final ball possession rate to 70 percent, dominated the battle.

By the way, the head sponsor has asked me to inform you that the Miss-Fla Challenge be stated as the Miss-Fla Challenge presented by Ted's of Beverly Hills Steakhouse.
There will be Ted's Posters and Billboards at the Match this Wednesday Evening, with the majority of them stating the Restaurant's Slogan.. "Come on down to Ted's of Beverly Hills, 'cause at Ted's, We Want to Put Our Meat in Your Mouth"

Well the return leg of the challenge went about as expected. The First Coast Conquistadors take the challenge with an easy 5-0 victory (combined two scores). Unfortunately, the First Coast ‘Thugs’ injured one my starters who will be out for Sunday’s league match. :D Fernandez-Cuesta will, however, be available for next week’s friendly. I was impressed with the play of Dan Hatton, who picked up two starts playing as an offensive wing back. He is not near a pop and is only in passable form. He may very well start in Fernandez-Cuesta’s place on Sunday.

The Golden Eagles FC travel to New York City to face off against Morningside, a team that is relatively speaking, new to V.167. Hopefully it will be the last match of meaning in Season 19. Their owner has never logged into hat trick, and quite frankly, despite being on the road, we expect an easy win. That being said, I want to remind you the race in V.167 is a close one. Prize money and the right to not play a qualification match are on the line heading into the final week. We decided to ‘Match of the Season’ going into the game.

Mats Ehngren increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3.
Will Albright behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 27:th minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
In the 33rd minute Golden put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. Scorer was Dean Lander.
In the 37:th minute Golden put themselves up 0 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. Scorer was Dean Lander. By then Dean Lander was a three time scorer - a hat trick!

The win means we finish in third place, a feat that I wanted to accomplish back during the middle of the regular season. Morningside was just absolutely horrible. I beat them 6-0 with two key injuries and my form in the toilet. It was also on the road none of the less. White Sox Pride surprisingly auto promoted. The team that will replace them is a bot team and will get a new owner immediately. Archers and Pandas play the qualification matches, but are expected to be replaced anyway because of owner neglect. I think next year it will be between us, LA Scullkickers, and maybe DFFC. If we can improve our midfield and get another forward similar to Dean Lander, then I think we will win the series.
<b>Up Next:</b> We host a friendly against a 6th division Swedish side, whose name escapes me right now.

This was our first ever international friendly at the Golden Eagles FC. It was fun and we generated a little extra money off of it. Our B team is still unimpressive but they are steadily improving, especially on the defensive side of things.

We did have one player pop this week. It took him 11 weeks to pop, so that should be what it takes at our club for a 19 year old to pop.

<b>Season #1 - Friendly Match</b>
Western Eagles vs. Golden Eagles FC
<i>Date:</i> July 16th, 2003
<i>Venue:</i> Western Eagles Stadium
<i>Attendance:</i> 2,579 (33,000)
<i>Weather:</i> Overcast
The Golden Eagles FC boarded a plane and took one of the longest flights in the world to region of Oceania. Our opponent is a very formidable one indeed, as we play the Western Eagles who were just recently promoted to the Oceania fourth division. They walloped through their 5th division this year. We expect both teams to be fielding their A teams, since it is the off season and everyone is looking to get more experience for their players.

<i>Match Report</i>
Pre Game
2579 spectators had come to Western Eagles Stadium this cloudy day.
Western had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Cuervo - Haydock, Bayliss, Jackson - Maizieres, Wishart, Haldon, Malolu, Waldren - Marsh, Marsh.
Golden tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Schultz - Stankovic, Larragoiti, Ukenings - Silverman, Jansson, Kärrlind, Chu, Pineda - Lander, Ehngren.
First Half
Westerns Brian Malolu gave, after 22 minutes, the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
Keenan Jackson received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 25:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score.
With 32 minutes played Stuart Bayliss could have brought this one home for Western, had his hooked ball gone in, but it went just a bit too high.
1 - 0 was the half-time score.
Western, bringing the final ball possession rate to 68 percent, dominated the battle.
Second Half
Western put their lead ahead another goal as Brian Malolu struck home the 2 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. By now Western were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Western´s Nicolas Maizieres got himself booked. A bit later, a magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Western´s Clay Wishart putting the lead up to 3 - 0.
Jochen Schultz was caught napping a bit later as Tony Marsh lifted a ball over him after a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keepers arms.
Western, bringing the final ball possession rate to 81 percent, dominated the battle.
Post Game
Western´s best player was Theo Marsh. Tony Marsh on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Golden´s best player was José Luis Larragoiti. Tyrone Pineda was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.

<i>Comments</i>
This was a good experience for our young men. The new adjustments in hat trick played slightly into the match. Leonardo Chu (weak experience) put up a half star more than what he normally does. Per Jansson (weak experience) also put up a half star then what he should in his current inadequate form. Jose Luis Larragoitti put up three stars for the first time in his career. This can not be contributed to experience, but simply defending training. We put up our best NSI ever and still got drilled 3-0. Go figure.

<i>Other Club News</i>
Our recent youth pull, Digeo Mas, sold for $70,000 last night. We received $64,400 for the deal. You would expect us to sit on that money and help us get out of debt, right? Wrong.
The three newest Golden Eagles:
Grigore Dogaru (14418795)

Grigore was brought in to do one of two things. We felt like we needed help up top and he will provide that for us. He also can step out and play the wing and may get the starting nod there, as an offensive winger. I think he was a fine pick up for $25,000.
Juan Luis Rodríguez (7811089)

Juan was brought in again to help out up top. He has the same ratings as current forward Dean Lander. Lander is a 2 and half star forward. Juan, in good form and with his experience, could put up 3 stars. Not bad at all for $5k.
Bryan Young (1598858)
29 years, inadequate form(5), healthy
A controversial person who is calm and honest.
Has poor experience(3) and inadequate leadership abilities(5).

I think Bryan was personally our best buy. He will give us a tireless worker up top and someone who can put the ball in net. I am hoping for three stars a game in good form. Bryan came with a price tag of $13,000
We will now turn to the midfield and our defender trainees. That will probably wait till next week however. I am planning on selling off certain players and still breaking even by the time the season begins.
