(I started my own thread, as my question goes in a slightly different direction than in the other thread...)

So.. has any of the numbercrunchers here found out which abilities of the players are influenced by the options of the training camp? To which extend?

I did a - very short - test with about a dozen different approaches (more time spent on run or pass etc.) and the only differences that I could see right after the TC were not in the gains of my rookie players, but on the random amount of loss of my 7-13 year veterans. Random, as even with the same values given to certain TC units those vets some time lost 1-12 or very seldom gained 1-3 points.
The rookies came up with a gain between 1-3 points in current skill - independend from position and position "drills" in TC - and the future value one would expect from a VU/U/HtR/O/VO inspected player..

I even had some tries, where I let them spend all the time on Team Functions, and the amount gained at the current state didn't get much different.

So, what the $&%§ does training camp really do???

Training camp helps:

- Improve cohesion.
- Learn formations for QB.
- Improve execution of certain play types.
- Reduce injury chances for players.

The descriptions are right there for each entry. I don't think any of them directly affect attributes aside from QB formations; for the most part player development is affected by playing time and the skills of the appropriate staff member(s).

does it? So TC improves a hidden "execute play xxx" factor? Like, with enough time spent in TC on Pass plays your Rookie QB, whose skills are absolutely down the drain, wil nonetheless perform better with passes at total because of a hidden bonus?

- Reduce injury chances for players.

Che... well, kinda check.. I didn't notice that it really does, yet.. kinda like with the Headcoach ability.. didn't keep several starters from going OUT 5-6 weeks (and one for season..) during the first 2 preaseason games

Indeed they are. I had noticed that already. But those desciptions are quite.. global.. so if there is a numbercrunchers answer to my question, it would be preferred ;) - facts, we need facts here..

Too bad, isn't it? Isn't that what TC is about - to enhance players in those parts where they lack a bit.
Like, when I play a 3/4 with little Cover 3 use, but mostly B/R or MtM, why shouldn't I try to enhance the abilities of a CB in those two defenses more than in Zone?

So, again:
Has anybody numbers about what the different parts of TC do? Or is it one of those "I'll just hit the automatic button to get over it.." things like defensive gameplanning for most people?
