Then in the summertime, such extreme, summertime. About 150 degrees hotter than just some months ago. Than just some months from now. With fireweed blooming along the frost-heaves, and merciless rivers that are rushing and carving and reminding us that here, mother nature wins. It is, as throughout all Alaska, that big, wild, good life teeming along the road that is, north to the future.

With just a slight opening of your sinewed hand, you can ease the relentless constriction you have brought upon your prose, for am I afraid it has turned a brilliant shade of purple.

We don't call it "summertime," we call it "summerday." Don't blink.

I spent 2 weeks in Alaska earlier this summer, and it was absolutely beautiful...a lot warmer then the 6 months I spent in Scotland, so i was happy.

When Mad Magazine parodied Good Times many years ago, Esther Rolle's character was also named Alaska.
