View Full Version : 20Q: The FOFC Game
So, last night, I had some singer in my head and I could remember next to nothing about him. I knew I wanted to check him out while at my computer, but had never come across him while at my computer, only while away. And I would always forget when I was at my computer. So I was determined to end that frustrating situation last night and asked FOFC for help.
Well, after a while I finally got the singer I was thinking of (it was Edwin McCain). But why not make a game out of that sort of thing? It would be fun to play a 20 questions kind of thing.
So let's say someone picks a person, place, or thing (make it reasonably well-known, wikipedia-entry bare minimum). The category is made known to everyone, and then the 20 questions start. Anyone can post a yes/no question, and if someone guesses it before the limit of 20 is exhausted, then it is their turn. If not, then the original picker picks another?
What do you think, sound fun? Why the heck not, it could pass some time for those at work.
I'll start. Feel free to suggest rule amendments that might make more fun or interesting or whatever. It's just for kicks.
So the first category is PERSON.
Go!

I'm utterly shocked that an author with nearly fifty books to her credit is described as too obscure:

She decided to end one of her series, the Diana Tregarde series (the one that had to do with amongst other things, Vampires), due to low sales. Some of her fans were so fanatical about this series that they actually issued death threats! This caused her to stop attending Conventions for quite a few years, and she actively hates the series now.

yeah, but there's a lot of authors in that genre who write a lot of books. i think the problem is that none of her series were reconizeable to people without a deep sci-fi/fantasy knowledge.

even some with a semi-decent knowledge (myself) had never heard of any of her key series.
Actually, two people had made her the second or third choice, but decided to guess someone else :)
But, it's a new game, and let's see how this one turns out :)

If I get through round 2, I'm going with something absolutely simple for the third go-round :P

As before, I have some help to offer. Note: Using these helps uses up a question.
For the price of 1 question you may either
Know ONE team this player has played for, selected by me
Know the player's nationality
Know this player's Uniform #
Know the year of the player's international debut
Note: This can replace question 19 or 20, but not both.
