Day 1 (T-3 days, 10 hours until flight)
Welcome to my vacation. My last work shift ended at 2 am, so I'm officially on vacation until the 18th (the day I turn 35, incidentally). Myself and my friend Chris will be heading out to Indianapolis on Wed for GenCon.
One interesting subplot is going to be adjusting my sleep patterns back. I napped today, and I'm really wishing I hadn't.. it's 5:30 am, and I just spent an hour and a half tossing and turning in bed trying to fall asleep, with zero success.

Other random thoughts as I continue to seek something that will let me sleep.
It is 48 degrees right now, at 6:31 AM.
Now, I understand it's always coldest before dawn...
but there's no freaking way it should be sub 50 degrees in August. Ever. I think next time someone brings up global warming, I'm going to punch them . Hard.
(yeah, I know, statisical outlier, yadda yadda yadda yadda.)
YouTube Videos I'm watching while playing FM09:

Incoherence vs the Super Smash Brothers from CHIKARA. Not much wrestling, but two of the greatest lines ever:
"Live in the now, 8-bit, Live in the now!"
And then the ultimate insult to Player Uno of the Super Smash Brothers:
"PRINCESS PEACH IS A TRAMP"
and this mash up, of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" (yes, the Rick Roll song), and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Believe it or not, it matches PERFECTLY!

48 hours before flight:
Today is my least favorite day of pre-trip planning.
Getting down the suitcase, and deciding what to take and why.
Trust me, I have put all my clothes in the suitcase four or five times, and have taken them out, not liking how they were setup or thinking i've forgotten something.
You go over the list again and again, sure you've missed something.. (Toiletries? check.. Wait.. did I put shampoo in?..etc, etc, etc)

T-36 hours
Well, got the suitcase all ready to go, so tommorrow I can relax, read a couple RPG PDF's I bought (some seriously crazy stuff!), and prepare mentally for five days of Indy-sanity :)

Got to watch the Sox brawl tonight, in between explaining to my friend who's giving us a ride to the Logan Express bus the directions for the 17th time.

T-8 hours
I'm a horrible sleeper the last day before anything important. I have maybe a half hour of sleep, but eh, what can you do. I'll probably sleep on the plane..

Indy Day 1
The Good - Flight was nice and quick (a touch over 2 hours in the air, from Boston to Indy... the hotel is nice, right in downtown Indy, (I'm staring at a giant monument to Indianans who served in the early american wars (Revolution, 1812 war, 1846 War with Mexico, and the Civil War). I zonked about 9 hours after I got in, and then another hour so before walking to the convention center.
The Bad - Apparently taxi drivers make a killing, it was near $40 for the taxi ride for two of us from the airport to the hotel.
The Ugly - During the initial crush to get in the doors this, somebody bumped me and I tweaked my knee pretty good. It hurts, but there's mininum swelling, I'm hoping that putting it up will keep it ok, and I can head out later.
