This guy has been smokin a little too much or something. I swear the troops will walk in when he's doing a press conference and he'll say something stupid like "They're just actors. Guns not real."

BANG!!!

I am sure that we didn't take the airport, I mean, he said so. He is a fricken Information Minister. The man brings information from the Lord, it can't be wrong.

Its makes me wonder if he is just saying this stuff to save his ass or if he really believes the idiocy that comes out of his mouth.

On a seperate note, will people like him and Tarik Aziz be held as war criminals, or will we quietly get them out of the country?

Well he's obviously not going to say "well were fucked, we might as well get the hell out of here, because we have no chance..."

No he's not going to say that, but the stuff he's making up is pretty damn lame.

I always imagine the Iraqi Information Ministery as a bunch of high Iraqis saying to each other, "I bet you can't say that we still have the airport and keep a straight face." "No, No, I got a better one, say we be beat the infidels back, I always love that one, I damn near burst out laughing everytime..."

Yeah, maybe it is just me.

You need to forward that to Conan O'Brien or SNL....that would make a hilarious sketch.

What, you don't believe that we've been driven out of the airport and that the video of our tanks in Baghdad is a Hollywood production? Suckers! :D

I bet we still only control one of the 10 docks in Umm Qasr, the part that isn't even Umm Qasr proper...that is unless that group was surrounded and slaughtered like the army that temporarily captured the airfield.

The guy would not look out of place in the Bengals PR department.

Those Iraqi soldiers dancing about on the back of that truck feigning success as it rolled through Baghdad were so funny as well. I'll say this much for the Iraqi regime: they can lose a war and still party-on baby.

20-30 tanks destroyed American all around Baghdad, many APC's and numerous US military personnel. Every time the Iraqi's attack, the US troops retreat and Iraq is winning the war of attrition.

By the way, the US troops only took the airport for a few minutes as a "propaganda" victory and immediately ran from the fierce Iraqi army. Saddam Airport also has no military value.

I'm waiting to hear his press conference that ways that the coallition isn't even bombing Baghdad. "We have been having some trouble with the gas lines around the city exploding. There have been no bombs falling in Iraq as our air force has achieved air superiority." After which he'll add "The footage that you see of Iraqi soldiers fighting against the US soldiers is actually in downtown Washington, we have invaded the US and are close to victory. The US propaganda machine has altered the footage to change the billboards and statues of Bush to look like billboards and statues of Saddam to make it appear as if the fighting is nearby."

.... (to follow along with the earlier theme) followed by a post press conference meeting with his fellow Iraqi cabinet members "Dude, I told you I could pull that off. I have got a first class case of the munchies."

They're at it again. Despite what I'm seeing on TV, we haven't taken any palaces. Putzes...

Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf in reference to the US forces this morning:

"They are begining to commit suicide at the walls of Baghdad. We would encourage them to increase their rate of commiting suicide."

I know war is a serious business but he is the funniest character I've seen in a long time. He should get his own slot on Paramount.

I love how the translator was laughing when he was translating. He was on the roof of Palestine Hotel.

I'm surprised he went outside. Seems like suicide to me.

I still remember the political cartoon that ran in early 1993, right after the Super Bowl (Dallas' 52-17 dismantling of Buffalo), which showed Saddam announcing that Buffalo had destroyed Dallas. That still gives me a good laugh. Some things never change.

You missed the funniest part of this. In reference to Al-Jazeera showing pictures of American (oops, coalition) tanks parked on every square inch of the name-in-dispute Baghdad airport, he accused that network of catering to the interests of the Americans. I got a good laugh out of that.

What I liked was the interview with the marine that was in (or around) one of the palaces they took. "He's only a couple blocks over. We were thinking of paying him a visit. Hell, if he opens his window we'll wave to him."

At least his most recent statement actually says that we did approach the city, he's getting closer to dealing with it. But he sayd we had 2 troop transports and they were destoryed and the rest of the army was fought off by the glorious Iraqi forces.

On another note, did you see that palace that the British forces took. I wonder how many citizens starved to death so he could build that one.

Dola: Also in agreement with Samdari. I had to ask my wife if I heard it right after he said it.
