I've been looking for a good airline sim ever since I played Air Bucks back in the days. Airlines Two on the discount shelf isn't too bad, but it's seriously lacking the features that belong. AirPro 2000 is an OK freebie.
But now I just stumbled on a game called Airline. I guess version 5 is coming out. Site is http://www.airlinesimulation.com
Anybody every played this one before?
I can't find a feature set or screenshots. I read through some of the newsletters and it sounds like it has some cool stuff in it though.

Ah, here we go:
Ever wanted to run your own airline?
This is your chance... set schedules, order new aircraft, refurbish (chose from specific seats for each class of travel) or sell off older aircraft, buy into other airlines or launch a takeover and merge their fleet into yours. AIRLINE includes photos taken around the globe (although these have been edited due to Airlines copyright considerations), you can build your fleet to schedule thousands of aircraft on unlimited segments. Your airline can service any of over 5500 airports worldwide with fleet possibilities ranging from a DC8 or 707 right through to the latest offerings from Boeing, AIRBUS and other manufacturers. Print your own timetables, set in-flight service levels and ground service standards such as airport lounges and limousine transfers. Hand out playing cards, model aircraft and decide whether or not to have sky marshals on each flight.arcade game or a flight simulator. AIRLINE is a business simulation aimed at aviation enthusiasts. The detail in this simulation extends to such things as traveller lounge access and whether or not you serve your customers free drinks or provide newspapers. Set up a Frequent Flyer program, launch a corporate takeover and assume control of your competitors, maintain aircraft servicing or suffer the dire consequences.
The decisions are yours - the future of this airline is in your hands.
It's $95 AUD ... plus shipping ... around $60 USD. A little steep ... but it does come on a disc, with a nice package and everything it seems.

Looks interesting, I suppose If I could afford it I would check it out.
I'd be interested in this game too if you find out any info.

All the excitement of getting government assistance while you lose billions, without the feelings of actually wanting to kill yourself.

True I love the thrill of getting welfare for my airlines from the US government so I can then in turn lay off more workers. That should be fun at any price lol.

I doubt this made it on Tech TV. This game, like FOFC, isn't available at retail. It's only by mail. More than likely Tech TV reviewed Airline Tycoon or Airlines Two ... which are both crap.

I think you need to tell them it's Super Nintendo.
It is a cool game - it's just annoying that it ends.

Is Airbucks the same game as Aerobiz?

I prefer the Genesis version of Aerobiz, but consider that I never had an SNES and that i'm a genesis fan to the end

Aurobiz is not the same as Aibucks.
And it was on SNES and Genesis. Probably a few others...

BTW. I did buy this game. It rocks. They just dropped the price. And it is multiplayer. Plus an online version is coming next month. A good buy.

Make the airlines safe from untold horrors and possibilities with absolutely no room for error, while your every move is watched, debated, and analyzed.
Wait....... I have this strange feeling of deja vue.

No, this game really is pretty good. They've got a fairly active forum where people dont' talk about anything but the game and at the very least the airline business and aviation.
It's about $50 AUS ... not sure what that equates to in USD. Plus they toss in six-months of airline online if you order this month. Airline Online will be very cool.
There also are e-mail "leagues" going on to and a bunch are starting up.
And there will be an editor that will allow you to virtually create a real world airline.
I highly recommend this one. It absolutely blows away any other airline biz sim ever created.

Do you want me to be serious? Because I was trying to be serious with this.
I was going to post this BEFORE, but I'd completely forgotten.

Senator, don't waste your posts in here. They might get deleted, and then you won't get credit for them.

I meant to respond to this once I got the game. Now that I have it, that's why I'm replying.
The game is very well done. You can set seating configurations, levels of service, invest in other airlines and merge with other airlines, own a starp-up subsidiary.
It has just about every real passenger and cargo plane imaginable. Plus you can fly prototype aircraft. Even into the future new aircraft are added into the game.
The developers are constantly updating the game and adding new features.
The price works out to about $32.69 depending on the exchange rate. That's not too bad, especially since you get in on disc.
They are planning on putting a retail package out, though I'm not sure if the USA will be included. Hopefully, because it is truly an exceptional title.

Any internet reviews on the game? How many competitors can you play with?

Well if you have an e-mail competition, you can have six players (there are eight slots though). One slot has to be the computer, to prevent an overflow error. The other slot has to be open, for some logistcal reason. Basically this allows you to have your airline once a week. You simply e-mail the game file from player to player. The computer has its day and so on.
Here are two links to reviews on the Airline 5 Web site:
http://www.airlinesimulation.com/reviews.htm
I'm sure if you search Airline 5 on Google you can find some reviews.

Cool, now I can pay myself millions and ask my best friend W. to pay my salary while I lay off thousands of workers!
