My God...it's full of stars!

So I was chillin' with the family tonight when my buddy calls and asks me to go for a beer. I say, "sure". We walk to the bar, have some drinks and then some shots...and I head for home.

But I'm buzzing pretty good, I decide instead of stumbling into the house, that I'm going to chill in the back yard for a second. I look up and see the black of night, a little cloud coverage...and a full view of bright stars. It's so quiet I can hear the ringing in my ears. I just stare, drunk as skunk, at the stars above and think about just how amazing our universe is. Why? Just because. I know this probably belongs in the drunk thread, but I don't care about that right now. Anyway, the point is, the next time you have some drinks but aren't totally blown out of your mind, stop for a second to enjoy the sky, if it's clear, because it's so much more amazing after a couple of shots of jagrmeister. Concentrate on a star. Stare hard. Lay on the ground and ponder the possibility of a planet orbiting that star. On that planet there may be intelligent life. One of those intelligent beings could be laying on the ground, staring at this distant star with a planet that has a human laying on the ground staring at the sky...
