View Full Version : Any interest in $1 private FOFC poker tournaments?
Poker Stars now allows buyins for private tournaments to be $1 (+.10) so I thought I would see if people might be more interested in this over the old $5 buyins we used to do. I always thought those games should be more about getting together and having fun than the money.
I would like to have one of these from time to time and maybe throw in some different game types, too. Anyway, if this is appealing, let's find out in this thread.

I would likely play.
Could we also list other games besides no limit hold em you might be interested in playing? There is a pretty good variety available for these along with some mixes of games.

I played in a few of the 5 dollar tourneys (never won, of course), but I'd probably be interested. I don't have any money on stars right now - have it on a sportsbook. But if it's easy enough to deposit a little, I could do it.

If we were able to do mixed games, I'd be for it. I'd probably need someone to do a Stars/Tilt transfer (send me $20 on Stars, I'd send you $20 on Tilt, or whatever worked), but I'd be in.

anything non-draw games that stars offers, though I assume any non-holdem games would result in lower turnout.

echeck deposits work well but if you're just looking for $10 or something to play in these tournaments I'm sure someone can do paypal for stars xfer(I will for anyone I recognize, etc)
Just for fun, I'm going to try to start a $1 NL holdem private tourney starting in just under an hour from now. Be there if you can, if you can't it may just be me and a couple others. But it's a buck, let's try it out if you can. Just for fun, the ones I make won't be part of a league or any of that unless everyone decides they want to try that later. I'll post the details up here in a second.
Note: Usually, I will give more warning than this.
Tournament Name: FOFC Impromptu
ID# 191443780
Starting Time 21:15 ET (just over an hour from now)
Password: twitter
Rock on.

If someone could do a Tilt/Stars transfer, I could play (I have $1.08 on Stars).
I will transfer first on Tilt if you wish. I figure about a $10 transfer each way...but that's if anyone is able to swing it.
What if I just send you 2c? (I don't want tilt money right now)

Two cents is cool. I didn't know if there was a minimum, hence why I brought it up.
My Stars name is Comey11.
Sent (I think, let me know).

Ahh, I missed the impromptu game this week but wanted to post that this is probably the only way I'll be able to play. I can send to someone via paypal, in the event we have another.
Hopefully we will be having more than one a week.
Here is the whole tournament we just played from my perspective. (or not, hang on)--handreplayer.com is not allowing me to do the whole tournament for some reason. If I can make it work I'll post the whole thing, just for fun.

I wish I had more hands to play back at you with heads-up. The one hand were I really had something (flopped broadway), I was in the worst spot...had 1800 and you bet 600. I was able to induce the stab, but you bet the right amount to be able to get away from a raise. And any flat call would've stopped you from putting another cent in the pot. So the shove was the right move, as it was the only way to try to get more money in the pot, I think...but it was not, as they say, in the cards.
By the way, the hand I speak of had the As-Ks-10c flop (I think those were the suits)...7 on the turn when you bet.
Your smallball strategy was great.

Yeah I had air on your broadway flop then. No choice but to get away from that. Was a good game, I enjoyed it a lot. I wish I could post my whole hand history in a replayer, maybe it would induce some conversation about some hands. I'll try again tonight.
