My first report.....

The match is in progress, 7 minutes of the first half have been played.
The crowd of 5116 turning up at Golden Eagles FC Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Golden had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Gretschmann - Larragoiti, Vera, Dorsey - Arevalo, Jansson, Kärrlind, Chu, Fernández-Cuesta - Morin, Ortega Gutierrez.

Wisconsin had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Barbee - Mattingly, Bilbao Ubillos, Chatman, Herrera - Craven, Hurt, Grantham, Sherrill - Goins, Knight.

5116???? Thats it? The D6 bot team I played drew more than that. Argh!

robbgmaier

I had rain also GE, but I still got 9K out of my 10K stadium, so I can't complain, I haven't had bad weather yet. Now, if I can just score some goals........

Looks like a good start for the Spikes!

Complex had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team goaltender Mack Mccracken saved Lance Still´s shot headed for the top corner. The terraces were silenced in the 8:th minute as Complex´s Tony Spicer put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack from the right. Complex had, after 9 minutes of the game, worked the left side industriously, creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but somehow didn´t achieve closure.

Arena: Else United Arena

The match is in progress, 9 minutes of the first half have been played.

A scorching day at Else United Arena, where 10000 spectators were in place for today´s match.

United tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Browning - Braxton, Chance, Jean - Mcqueen, Mcmillan, Esparza, Purdy, Walker - Duvholt, Diaz...

Got 46 000 for the sellout :)

My first update....
The match is in progress, 9 minutes of the first half have been played.
At The Cyclone Center, 9417 punters turned up, and despite threatening clouds at the horizon, no rain came. Louisiana tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Alcolea - Stubblefield, Saxena, Kvarnbrant, Elefterescu - Blissenbach, Quigley, Kumar, Curran, Moon - Aguilera.

Oklahoma started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Donovan - Coughlin, Boyce, Miller, Abaroa - Keaton, Purcell, Barry, Fuentes - Salgado, Song-Ming.

I was really hoping for more than 9,000 people....I just upgraded my stadium to 14,050 seats...and only 9,000 show up....damn rain clouds

Galesburg took the lead after 6 minutes with 0 - 1. Ken Shaffer placed the ball out of reach for the home sides keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Tommy Joe Poulin increased the visitors lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 2. By now Galesburg were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead.

8 minutes in and we pulled back. This could be bad.

I've still gotta get into this Hattrick deal, of course...I am sitting here clicking refresh on my game every minute or two, so maybe I'm hooked without realizing yet. :)

Nothing like playing CM4, and checking in on Hattrick occasionally for an evenings enjoyment.

16 minutes on my game, and not a highlight to speak of for either side.

Ahhh, other team just scored a goal on us. First time that has happened in the past 4 or 5 games.

The match is in progress, 16 minutes of the first half have been played.
9822 spectators arrived at Lion's Den Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Ilhavos had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Gaston - Mcalister, Xiaoshuang, Ortiz, Burr - Browning, Guillen, Black, Gamboa - Hebert, Taylor.

McGees started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Kuykendall - Wood, Dillon, Cordero - Duckworth, Amos, Churchill, Millet, Taylor - Dunbar, Hyun-Suk.

Ilhavos took the lead in the 15:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Rory Hebert elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.

Arena: Bolingbrook Utd Arena

The match is in progress, 18 minutes of the first half have been played.
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 4643 at Bolingbrook Utd Arena today. Bolingbrook had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Barron - Lindsey, Mcgraw, Hyang-soon, Leal - Marks, Lord, Vick, Kraus - Hanley, Herrington.

Tomahawks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Udding - Carrillo, Gardner, Pitts - Adamson, Woodard, Richardson, Baggio, Hicks - Hooks, Crocker.

Bolingbrook made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in from the right hand side left Brandon Vick completely alone with keeper Per Udding, who made a spectacular block.

This is Bebec A. Kes live from Morgantown with breaking news. We've just learned that Goldurnears owner "bg" Rob Maier has intended to MOTS his match against Arsenel today, but at the last minute, after intense and heated discussions with his staff, finally switched to normal just in time for his coach to give the pregame pep talk. Apparently, it's the coach who caused this consternation to begin with. Being nasty with solid leadership, bg now believes that even with possible upcoming back to back PICS, the team simply can not be subjected to the combined pressures. "I want to get rid of this guy, but we spent 50K just to go from weak to passable, and we won't go into stupid debt at this time, especially since we made need to make purchases to top our division when all is said and done." "Damn it anyway, I'll see more of you later, Bebec."

And the route is on:

The match is in progress, 38 minutes of the first half have been played.
6666 spectators had come to Athletic Metro Arena this cloudy day. Athletic had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Davis - Small, Williams, Compton, Wells - Myrick, Singh, Dowdy, Rock - Machado, Walker.

Avengers tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Lyhing - Proffitt, Eastman, Cheney - Velazquez, Nesbitt, Wetzel, Garrido, Farmer - Freeman, Beltran.

The referee showed Avengerss Erik Eastman the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the 12th minute the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending and Willie Freeman put the ball away for 0 - 1. The referee showed Avengerss Neal Proffitt the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Athletic were forced to a substitution as Aarumughasami Singh couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment. Man, what a shot by Jeffrey Wetzel! Firing from 35 yards he didn't give the enemy goalie a chance and it was 0 - 2. Oliver Dowdy received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly, probably out of lack of experience, in the 37:th minute and almost caused an opponent to score. In the 38:th minute the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as Brad Nesbitt finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.

FINALS FROM CANADA...

Frog Man's Pintendre Pittbulls breezed past the Montreal Timbermen 4-1 at Home.

Bbor's Bbors dropped a tough one, 2-zip to the Fighting Monkeys of Quebec. YIKES!

Mike Vic's Goldfish also was shut out 2-nothing by a tough Bridgeburners squad.

and Kevin's Falmouth United slipped past L'enterprise, on the road, 1-Nil.

Our FOFC Canadian Franchises went 2-2 today, to go along with FOFC Europe's 3-2 effort, FOFC Hattricker's are now 5-4 on thd Day today thus far.

WHOA: The fortyfive minutes were dominated by United, with an impressive 81 percent possession of the ball.

Damn, this is the team that finished second in the league last year. I noticed that his right side is really weak, and that he plays the same form. every week...so I loaded up my right side...if you notice 4 of my 4 goals came from the right. Only2 of the 4 SAY they were from the right, but McQueen is playing on the right, and he fed Duvholt...and then McQueen scored. nice :)

51% poss. actually is pretty good considering the quality, or lack
thereof, of my midfield.

Forward is where I'm strong. both A Team forwards are 'Solid' in

A Team Crocker is 25 (also on the market) Hooks is 23

B Team are 22 and 17 :P

FIRST COAST CONQUISTADORS at Jayhawks of Big D

Sunday, April 6th, 2003, 7:00pm est (6:00pm Dallas Local Time)
Jayhawk Arena - Dallas, Texas
Match ID# - 5547298

Records - First Coast (1-0, 0-0 in Division V.114), Jayhawks (1-0, 0-0).. First Coast defeated the Tennessee Conquerors (VI.737 CPU Team) 2-1 in the 1st Round of the U.S. Cup, last Wednesday in Chattanooga, TN, while the Jayhawks defeated the Puerto Rico Kickers (VI.649 CPU Team) 3-1 in San Juan, PR, that same evening in their U.S. Cup Round 1 Match.

Formations:
- First Coast - 5-3-2
- Jayhawks of Big D - 3-5-2

"Well G.D.!! Down 2-Zip at the Half and with my Defensive Mindset, I just don't see us having the ability to come back in this one.. Oh well, we shall see.."

"The match is in progress, it´s HALFTIME!

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 10426 to Jayhawks Arena. Jayhawks had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Crabtree - Grubbs, Kraus, Farmer - Carasco Durán, Polanco, Amaya, Bennett, Chen - Rubio, Pinson.

Conquistadors had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. They fielded: Bañó - Small, Gustafson, Benner, Poirier, Guillén - Masters, Light, Brunstrom - Pemberton, Godwin.

Jayhawks had a good opportunity to take the lead as Stephan Polanco came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of Sergi Bañó.

Jack Farmer gave his Jayhawks the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post.

In the 32nd minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Herb Pinson dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Jayhawks.

The teams went for a half-time break at 2 - 0. Jayhawks held the ball, with a clear 71 percent possession rate."

burganation vs. Spring Grove Fighting Eagles
The season opener, and it is a cloudy day. It is half-time.
To spare the match-write-up I'll jsut point out important things.

A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area, but at last Fighting´s Victor Brown was able to shove the ball in. 0-1.

Fighting increased the lead to 0 - 2 as Rocky Beverly scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner.

The visitors David Ramalimgam took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side´s goalie and full backs in the 15:th minute. 0 - 3 for Fighting.

Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 32nd minute Fighting goal, making it 0 - 4. Randy Mahon was noted down as the scorer.

One of many good passes from Martin Maurer at the wing was recieved and skillfully taken care of by Roger Sisk, scoring for Fighting to 0 - 5.

Rocky Beverly increased Fighting´s lead to 0 - 6 by a superb free kick strike, flying in just under the far top corner.

Tom Sheets was hit with a yellow. And my coach has started to slow the pace, and meet the opponents in our zone. I think it is safe to say we win this game.

And for a shameless plug:

ROGER SISK FOR U-20 USA!!!!!!

So what if he is only an inadequate, he rules.

And I got 29 of these on my Latest events:

The team played a match. Spectator income amounted to 0.0 US$.
Ya would think one would get the point across. ;)

1-1 at the half, Crawfish have a 55 percent possession rate. That is suprising as this squad I am going against usually has a weak midfield and I generally get wretched! Maybe the stamina has turned things around. Or it could be the threats of Crawfish attached to sack punishment. :)

I think 3 consecutive games (friendlies and leagues) will get your team in the comfort zone with it. If you have another formation your team is comfortable with (alternatively 4-4-2), you might try playing them in league games and start using 4-5-1 during friendlies to gain competencies before using them in your league games.

The match is in progress, 39 minutes of the second half have been played.

After an industrious effort down the middle Chris Black could have closed the game off in the 21st minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. 24 minutes into the game McGees´s Fred Dunbar found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 1 - 1. Ilhavos could have put themselves ahead in the 24:th minute as Will Gamboa missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. McGees´s Chris Taylor could have put the guests one up in the 28:th minute, chasing a through ball but Millard Gaston was fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. Halftime score was 1 - 1. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by McGees, with an impressive 56 percent possession of the ball.

This was a good period for the visitors with several opportunities to take the lead, in particular when Wen Hyun-Suk slipped through the defense to come up alone with Millard Gaston - but the home side´s keeper showed some lightning reflex Paul Dillon of McGees received a yellow card in the 64:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 65:th minute goal by Chris Black for Ilhavos, putting them ahead 2 - 1. Allan Cordero of McGees received a yellow card in the 67:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. 69 minutes into the game McGees´s Jamie Duckworth found a gap in the home sides central defense scoring with a long shot, making it 2 - 2. The referee showed McGeess Thad Amos the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Some quick foot work on the left side of the field in the 73rd minute left McGees´s Thad Amos completely free to score. 2 - 3 for the visitors. Thad Amos came close to extending the visitors lead as he, completely unmarked in front of the goal, lifted a ball over Millard Gaston, hitting the bar.

McGees finally take the lead. This is probably one of the better games I have ever seen.

Myles, if you want defense, you might want to try a 5-4-1,. That at least helps with the midfield emphasis, but scoring is a lot harder.

And now to my match:

After 83 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Tom Sheets who increased Fighting´s lead to 0 - 7.

And then for one of their hot-headed players:

Thad Stephens of burganation received a yellow card in the 54:th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Thad Stephens of burganation got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game.

Then a almost:
Roger Sisk was, after 47 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors lead with a well placed diving header but home side keeper Leonard Rector saved.

Think it is safe to say this one is in the bag. We'd probably be up 12-0 if my coach didn't pull bakc.

"..Now 43 Minutes into Half #2 and FIRST COAST still trails the Jayhawks, 2-0.

From the looks of it, the only Offensive threat of the day for the Coast came because of a mishap by a Jayhawk defender.. Not Good!!

"Louisiana, bringing the final ball possession rate to 85 percent, dominated the battle.

The most dominating Louisiana player was without a doubt Dwight Moon. Derek Curran was a disappointment, however.... The match ends 2 - 1. "

75% in the first half, 85 final....A win is nice, but it would have been better if my team would have been able to score a little more.

And the inadequate scorer Roger Sisk puts up a 2* performance. And I am in first place. Oh yeah. :D

The crowd of 5116 turning up at Golden Eagles FC Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. Golden had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Gretschmann - Larragoiti, Vera, Dorsey - Arevalo, Jansson, Kärrlind, Chu, Fernández-Cuesta - Morin, Ortega Gutierrez.

Wisconsin had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Barbee - Mattingly, Bilbao Ubillos, Chatman, Herrera - Craven, Hurt, Grantham, Sherrill - Goins, Knight.

Golden took the lead in the 15:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Gabriel Dorsey elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. In the 21st minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as David Ortega Gutierrez dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Golden. 2 - 0 was the half-time score. Golden held the ball, with a clear 85 percent possession rate.

A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Golden lead up with 3 - 0. Jackie Morin finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. By now Golden were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Golden seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion about the organization of the team. JC Vera wasn´t fit enough for a full game made several mistakes out of sheer tiredness. One of them was exploited by Son Mattingly who squeezed in 3-1. The referee showed Goldens José Luis Larragoiti the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Golden, with an impressive 87 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Golden player was Werner Gretschmann. Gabriel Fernández-Cuesta on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Wisconsin player was without a doubt Bryan Goins. Noel Hurt on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.

I am disapointed that we didint win by more, but Ill take the victory and the total domination.

Just glimpsing over the other squads within my series, it looks like I'll finish middle of the road in IV.40 unless I start purchasing some major talent, lol. It's my first season in IV, so I'm happy so long as I can keep from being relegated, lol.

Wow, 5 goals by my 'senior' striker, along with two near misses.... nice start to his season. Perhaps even more suprising is my 81% possession for my wretched midfield (guess my opponent is really bumming).

Details.
One of many good passes from Joseph Kahn at the wing was recieved and skillfully taken care of by Chaitee Dok Phi Sua, scoring for Strick to 0 - 1. David Rocha pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 10:th minute, wove through the guests whole central defense line and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. In the 28:th minute the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as David Rocha flipped the ball after a cross pass from the right. David Rocha almost managed to score another goal for Negative, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Negative, bringing the final ball possession rate to 64 percent, dominated the battle.

The home sides David Rocha twisted a free kick home in the 46:th minute, putting Negative ahead 3 - 1. This third goal made a hat trick for David Rocha. Negative put themselves up 4 - 1 when David Rocha broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The structure of the game started to change as Negative decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. In the games 59:th minute, David Rocha could have extended the lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put Negative lead up with 5 - 1. David Rocha finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 68 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Negative. However, Brian Williams made a spectacular save. Negative held the ball, with a clear 81 percent possession rate.

A little bit of both....OK actually a LOT of one and a little bit of the other...

I never really expected to win the U-20 election, so that isn't what really has me upset. Now, losing 4-nil in a match that should have been a lot closer, that has got me ticked off.

Well, despite the loss 7 new supporters signed up for the team.

The experiment in the 4-5-1 failed and I think I'm gonna have to go back to 5-4-1 at least until I get some better inner mids.

I am not a Hattrick expert, but I expect you will be killed in midfield with a 5-4-1, if you are getting beat with a 4-5-1. You might lose by less (if you have a strong back 5), but you are virtually assured of not scoring at all.

5-4-1 is a good formation to use in friendlies if you are training defense.
