My ranking will fluctuate a lot next couple weeks, and I've probably overrated the few week 1 teams that beat good teams. (For example putting Alabama #1 over the next 3.)

Games I watched at least a quarter of: South Carolina-NC St/Oregon-Boise St/Notre Dame-Nevada/Georgia-OK St/BYU-OU/LSU-Washington/Florida St-Miami

He's got Miami #8. Maybe he meant Missouri?

EDIT: Nope, he's got Missouri #14. Hell if I know.

He's got Miami #8. Maybe he meant Missouri?

EDIT: Nope, he's got Missouri #14. Hell if I know.I was searching around for a 25th team (it probably would have been TCU it they played anyone week 1). Michigan at least looked good 1st half against a supposedly decent MAC team... we were watching football with a diehard Michigan fan so they were being mentioned... and it was around then on Saturday I started drinking heavily, so I probably missed a team or two doing better later (or in a different part of the country). If I wanted to nitpick other lists (and I do, but I was holding off since its week 1), I would ask why someone bumps BYU to #2 for a win over Oklahoma, but doesn't think Oklahoma is a top 25 team while Baylor is (maybe not ranking teams with a loss Butter?), or if anyone actually has a reason they think Utah deserves to be top 25, let alone top 15, other than their record last year.

Like I said though, it's week 1 and my poll is heavily skewed towards teams I saw until I can get more info on other teams. I didn't even think the throwaway 25 slot was the most egregiously different pick I had - Miami at 8, ND at 11 or even Alabama over Florida for #1 probably beat it.

Sorry, I didn't send the reminders out this week. I've been in California on vacation, and have had inconsistent internet access at Tahoe and now Yosemite. If you still want to get a vote in, and can disregard the results of tonight's games, I'll post the results tomorrow night.

Bingo. It's week 1, the list is pretty fluid at this point. BYU had by far the most impressive win of the opening week, but Florida is probably everyone's #1 at this point, let's be honest.

Bingo. It's week 1, the list is pretty fluid at this point. BYU had by far the most impressive win of the opening week, but Florida is probably everyone's #1 at this point, let's be honest. If we're actually regarding BYU as a legitimate top 5 team and not giving them bonus points for being the underdog, I'd say Alabama had a more impressive win just because of the vast yardage domination of VT. I do like fluid lists though - Michigan had a more impressive week 1 (and thus season so far) than teams like Iowa and Utah, but a lot of people/pollsters don't drop teams if they win, no matter how poor they look doing it.
