Not as big as Swayze, but a punk icon back east and author of the Basketball diaries.

I got put on detail (menial labor) for recording a cover version of this tune in the Army in 1981 while I was in AIT and replacing the names of his friends with the Officers and NCO's of our Company.......The stupid part was listening too it quite loud with a bunch of other people in our Platoon when one of the NCO's came through on a room check. They didn't find it quite as funny as us.

RIP Jim and thanks, I am still calloused from that week spent raking dirt for hours on end.

I experienced / endured 13 years of Catholic education and have a fondness for punk rock -- so I definitely dug Jim Carroll.

I'll have to dust off Catholic Boy tonight.
