I did not see a thread on this and there really should be for what will be one of the greatest moments in tv history. The premiere is this Sunday, Sept. 20th and I can't be the only one excited for this season. I liked last season, loved the Blacks, and the break up with Cheryl made things more interesting.
I caught the last 10 minutes of a preview show called "CYE: It's Not a Reunion Show But It's the Closest You'll Get" on HBO last week and it looks like there's gonna be side characters appearing in addition to the main 4. I only saw Bania and Newman, but I think George's parents and Leo are confirmed to be on the show. They're replaying the preview show tonigt on HBOW at 6:30 ET and it looks like it'll be on a lot this week if you wanna check it out.

We'll be picking Curb back up this season. Actually, I guess my wife never stopped watching it.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm really hoping the Seinfeld-thing doesn't completely demolish the usual Curb-thing. Big time Curb fan. If they can meld the two it'll be perfect.

There's a good trailer on youtube that I can't link to right now, but I recommend checking out.
I'm ridiculously excited.
Something I thought about while watching that trailer...the cast doing this on Curb is proof of two things: they really love Larry David and they already have a shitload more money than they'll ever need, since they could basically put less work into a short scripted reunion show and they'd get paid much more than I'm sure they're making on Curb.
quick question - for someone who has never watched Curb (I know, I know.. inexcusable.... and I'm sure it is right up my alley and have been told so many times by friends, but didnt have HBO when it started and havent taken the time to catch up on dvds).. if I jump in and watch this season will I be totally lost? I mean as far as past events or relationships with the characters, is there a lot of inside jokes or references, etc... ??
Ronnie Dobbs2

No, you won't be totally lost. It doesn't carry over much. You should be able to figure out the various relationships pretty quick (or a quick spin over to Wikipedia should introduce you to the major players). Each season is fairly self-contained, though episodes each season refer to whats happening that season so I would try not to miss one.
edit: Although I should say that last season ended in a way that will carry over to this one for a short while, I'll explain if you want.

It is going to be hard to wait for season 7 to come out on DVD. I love this show.

I will certainly be watching.
Can't wait. Between this, the office, it's always sunny, and ultimate fighter, it's gonna be phenomenal week. I can't wait to see how, or if, they play off the whole Michael Richards fiasco and the Blacks.
Pretty solid episode last night. Loved the whole "tap that ass" dialogue with Leon.

Larry: I guess this means you'll be...
Leon: I'm going upstairs to eat this Chinese food in my fucking room.

It was great seeing Larry get so offended when Jason Alexander criticized George and the final episode of Seinfeld. The bit with Susie's Lyme disease was also funny.
All three episodes have been quality so far.

Haven't seen last nights, and I'm afraid with all the Seinfeld hoopla this will get buried, but the second episode about Road Head was a truly great episode.

I have only seen the first 3 episodes of season 7. Very funny stuff. Not quite as good as Entourage but good. I plan on watching the rest of the series as well.

Tonight's episode was fucking amazing.
Leon's bit about how he'd do better with the wheelchair girl, the Larry/Ted Danson/pie scene, and the ending scene had me rolling.
"You gotta bring the ruckus to that ass"... So glad they decided to keep Leon around.

Yes. Something about Larry cradled in her arms, and all we can see is his bald head. Too funny.

That was one of the best episodes since the time he took the hooker to the Dodgers game. The Richard Lewis scene at the end had me on the floor and the Italian guy talking about only giving a handicap person 2 napkins are the types of interactions that made me love every epiosode of Seinfeld.

Best episode ever. The Richards stuff was gold, Jerry, gold! Plus all the Larry and little girl stuff, just sensational.
That was great. I was a little disappointed at first with the whole Michael Richards/black thing. I thought their whole angel was gonna be his interaction with Leon, when he said "don't hurt me, it was 3 yrs ago, i made a mistake". Made up for it pretty well at the end there.

Just saw it on demand. The nine year old with he rash on her pussy was fantastic. Leon brings it every episode. "I whited that shit up!"

Definitely one of the strongest episodes of the season. The last two have been probably the best in my opinion, with the rest of the season generally pretty uneven.
And yes, Leon is a tremendous character. I can never get enough of his interactions with Larry.

Awesome episode. I like how Leon's "militant Muslim" outfit was the best he could do to look white.

I enjoyed the season, but probably would have enjoyed an actual Seinfeld reunion episode better.
What really struck me is how much older they all look. The only one who didn't look a lot older was Elaine.

Elaine looked incredibly hot. Way hotter then she ever looked on Seinfeld.

Totally agree. She never did it for me on Seinfeld. Now she's pushing 50 and I couldn't keep my eyes off her.

Have you been a regular viewer of Curb?
Unfortunately im sure many people only tuned in for this season, and must have missed out on many, many jokes that referenced things that have happened in the prior 6 season. For example, basically all the plot points within the seinfeld reunion show were things that Larry has done.
And yes, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss is somehow hotter than ever. Id' hit it.

My wife and I have watched Curb for several seasons. Last season, I basically gave up on the show and she kept watching. I guess I see it as a poor man's Seinfeld with less likable characters. It just seems less polished. There's too much time spent with people literally yelling at each other, especially Larry and his best friend's wife. I love George, but Larry David annoys me as often as he amuses me. Curb is just very hit or miss with me. It also stretches things too far (the power peeing, hanging from the fat girl's belly over the side of a building, etc.).

Just watched this week's episode.
I've gotta say that, with one episode left for the season, they have had a near perfect season.
The Bill Buckner/Leon in glasses/Mr. Softee truck was just solid gold for me. :)

Brilliant episode. Definitely one of the best seasons yet.
I've also enjoyed all the callbacks to Seinfeld story lines given Larry is in NYC (Buckner=Hernandez, for instance). Especially funny given the "Car Periscope"-an idea Jerry imagined Kramer had in a flash-forward-and Larry saying he always has this ideas before people execute them.

The faces he was making with Susie in the car killed me. I cannot imagine how many takes it must have taken to get them not laughing when they filmed it. :)

One of the best, full seasons of television I think I have ever watched. There really was not a letdown episode all year.
