Apparently after refusing to leave private grounds and throwing various objects at police, the police responded by shooting rubber bullets into the crowd. Does anyone else not feel particularly bad about this?

I'm torn...

On one hand, I think that the police could have exercised some restraint in restoring order. On the other hand, the protestors could have exercised some common sense and dispersed when the police told them to. In the end, no one is particularly at fault...it was just one big clusterfuck.

ummmm, ya when you're protesting for peace and you're violent isn't that kind of contradicting yourself?
I think the police were completely in the right in this case, because the crowd was being disorderly,

Well, it's kind of unsatisfying, but at least it's a start.

should of hit them with some chemical weapons, maybe tactical nukes.

What is the difference between a protest and a riot?

protesters are white generally(exludes racial protesters, but they actually have a purpose)

And now, time for another installment of "I can picture it now"...

(Scene: Bay Area. Protestors are running around. Cops show up.)

Protestors: Hey, you're going to shoot us!
Cops: No we won't. We don't have guns.
Protestors: Really? You always have guns.
Cops: Nope. Not this time.
Protestors: Can we inspect you?
Cops: Sure! See any guns?
Protestors: No...
Cops: So there you go.
Protestors: OK. Well, I guess if the inspections didn't turn up anything, we have no reason to...
Cops: ::BANG::
Protestors: Ow! You shot us!
Cops: Now what have we learned today, children?

That the evil US supplied the cops with the guns in the 80's so who cares what he does with them nowadays because it is all our fault anyway

according to a recent poll, 63% of folks in the Bay Area support war to remove dictator. 61% approve of Bush's job performance.

That's less than the national average, but still significant and surprising.

Also, when the cops were arresting protesters for sieging downtown a few weeks ago, 75% of the 1200 had addresses outside the Bay Area. SF seems to attract radicals just like the homeless. Maybe it's the weather. At any rate, people here are more supportive than the media would have you believe, especially the Chronicle.

the sad thing is no matter what percentage approve or dissaprove basically they know little of the facts in either case. Here in florida we dont have the luxury of worrying about that Bush's job performance we have Jeb either putting us more in debt or trying to overthrow amendments that people actually voted for.

Actually its the class size amendment, which he wants to repeal or change by any means necessary even though it is the intent of the majority of Floridians that voted. Just another example of a politician serving his own agenda and not the agenda of his constituents. As for the pig amendment, god who comes up with some of these things lol.
