Are you ready ? How are your players ? improving ? decreasing ?

I'm quite dissapointed most of my players are decreasing even some young ones (25-26), and very few improved (RF Perry, C Ochoa, P Swift & P Brown being the main ones).

I still have a good team but winning the title again might be harder.

I had some major player movements with most being better players in the minors replacing former starters. We are set and ready to make another run at the title.

My 24 year old first round draft pick did not impove much at all in low minors, he's coming up and will be starting this year. My 20 year old second round pick and most of my other 18-20 year old players showed very signifigant improvements in the low minors, one guy went from 50 BA to 65... he's still only 20.

i'm probably not going to win for awhile, I'm playing through the draft and low minors for the first couple of seasons to try to build a home grown winner here. Almost ready for the start of the new season!

None of my players improved much...

I've about had it with CSFBL. There are just too many technical problems. I have three guys that I want to bring up. But I can't reassign them because of various technical issues. I also can't view the whole free agent list.

under 12 hours until next season:D

We've upgraded 1st Base (thank god), promoted a new, speedy right fielder, and upgraded at catcher. Our young pitching staff looks to have slightly improved.

You're going down this year, Brittany. :)

Looks Like another long season for the Greyhounds. I was expecting a lot more movement in abilities, but it looks like changing a team around won't be done over night.

I have not had any tech problems at all. Barring the occasional site outages.

I have seen at least 2 posts reguarding players giving up and am curious as to why I have not seen their teams listed as available. (Release Team)

A pair of 7-3 wins to start the season. Not too shabby.

JeeberD

Starting off with Wyandote again, who was second in my division, and have taken two of the first three. The teams not looking too bad so far...

My team is really going to suck this year, but I should be getting the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft.

The Silver Bullets' #1 pick from last year P Donald Ferguson pitched 7 inn gave up 5 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 4 in his first ever game. No ER. Though the pen almost blew it but we hung on 6-5 over Victorville.

JeeberD

El Paso is off to a 6-2 start, same as last year....

tucker342
04-11-2003, 10:16 PM
2-10 for my team, ouch:(

The reason is that my lineup was all messed up, and my best player wasn't even playing:mad:

JeeberD
04-12-2003, 02:42 AM
Well, that's what the "off-season" is for, bucko. :)

Down to 8-5, but still tied for first with Detroit, with whom I'm about to start a series...

BreizhManu

10-3, better than last season (even if I finished with the best record I think I started 21-21 or something like that)

tucker342
04-12-2003, 10:33 PM
I've won 6 of my last 8... here I come...:D:D:D

Bboors fall almost from first to worst in D2. As far as the other divisions are concerned. The top teams look to be continuing their runs from last year.

As far as the VBullets are concerned, our starting pitching is not as good, but more consistant as we have a very good #5 starter, and our bullpen is much improved.

Our top 2 draftpicks from last year are now starting and providing a little more spark in the lineup but not anything that will dominate games. As long as the team is solid and produces runs I will be happy.

Defensively, we have a better SS and 3B, and the OF remains unchanged. No gold glovers, but I would like to see that change with my team emphasis on pitching.

We only have a couple of discontented players now, a young 21 yr old LF who has a sweet glove. I told him when he learns to hit he can play. The other is an aging 3rd string C, who spells the starter and is probably expendable. He has enough of a bat to keep on. He will most likely leave at the end of the season. He hit .250 with 1HR and 9RBI last year.

Four solid rookies pitching this year. They have combined for

49 2/3 IP a 6-3 record, 8saves and a 1.63 Era.

That helps a lot, In fact there pobably is at least 1 if not 2 future starters in the bunch.

I just hope it continues into the season.

OK bbor, it's just about time start the annual Battle for the Dirty Rubber. It looks like both of our teams are struggling so far this year, but I expect it to be a good series again this year. I'll be in Oklahoma until Tuesday night for my grandma's funeral, but when I come back I'll expect the rubber to be waiting here for me.

Ameture draft is posted any thoughts? Who are you going for?

BreizhManu
04-15-2003, 07:53 AM
My first choices are the 2 CFs, then I'd like to go for pitching.

I don't see any superstar in this draft, which is pitching oriented.

PilotMan
04-15-2003, 08:03 AM
Pitching is good, I will probably try and go all pitching or at least the first 2 picks then see what I get.

JeeberD
04-15-2003, 08:00 PM
Hmmm, bbor has avoided mentioning that I swept his ass and now am in possesion of The Rubber. Slacker...

JeeberD
04-16-2003, 11:52 AM
Wow, my boys are on fire. We've won eight in a row and 14 of our last 16. I hope we can keep this pace up, but knowing how this game works we'll probably have a twelve game losing streak very shortly...

JeeberD
04-17-2003, 02:16 AM
Amazing, I'm on a 12 game winning streak, 18 of our last 20. I wonder how long this hot streak will last?

Crap, I need to find some wood to knock on, quick..

Radii
04-17-2003, 09:41 AM
I have no idea how I am playing almost .500 ball, 25-26 so far. One of my hitters has shown solid improvement, gerardo gentry is hitting .310 this year and is on pace for about 70 steals, up from .280/40 last year. A few of my players are on the same pace as last year, but many are way down. Danny Ramirez who I hoped would be a 100 steal man and star of my team, is hitting .212 this year, down from .270. My cleanup man Victor Perez is down to .260 from .285, and 2B Reginald Leek is down to .160 from .242... great start guys!

Run support appears to be an issue as well. Johnny Coleman, my best starter, went 14-8 last year with a 2.7something ERA. This year his ERA is down to 2.4something and he's 3-5. :(

Here's hoping for a good draft!

JeeberD

Damn, lost my last two after that post. I knew I should have found some real wood, not this artificial, processed shit that my desk is made of... :)

OK, enough talk about QotM and other trivial matters - let's talk about the fantastic start my Grand Salamis and clean-up hitter Michael Rojo are having so far...

:)

JeeberD
04-25-2003, 04:24 PM
The Vatos may be a couple of games behind the Grand Salamis, but we swept the series last time we met (yeah, you swept me early in the year, but that was before my team finally "clicked").

Michael Rojo? .282/35/100 isn't bad. My boy Kevin Alston is at .310/32/75 though, so I would have to say that was a push.

The decider though is our respective pitching staffs. Your team 3.93 team ERA is nothing compared to my teams 3.01 ERA...

Hmmm, maybe I've found a new rival. That would be cool, since the Bbor's aren't challenging me anymore... :D

BreizhManu
04-25-2003, 04:42 PM
my three stars are still performing well :

Kenneth Roads .336/31/93
David Johnson .310/34/97
Jimmie Baker .296/33/93

but my pitching staff is still very disappointing.

BTW if someone needs a 2B (Aaron Barnes) or a defensive minded SS (Arsenault or Bowman in low minors), I'm willing to trade them

The draft is final. I drafted ZERO players because of some bug. Reading the Bug Board it sounds like some teams got zero players and other teams picked up 6 players in the draft.

Did anyone in this league get any players from the draft?

Radii
04-29-2003, 09:43 PM
Assuming we're still in season 2 and I haven't fallen asleep at the wheel and missed the first 80 games of season 3(I haven't kept a close eye on things lately), then yeah, I got the proper 3 players.

JeeberD
04-29-2003, 11:48 PM
If I remember correctly, I got a couple of guys who should be decent and one scrub. And I still have the best record in the league. Go El Paso!!!! :D

Damn, swept you again, Dawgfan. I have the season series 6-3.

Kevin Alston is kicking so much ass. .327/50/119 and we still have thirty games to go. And the kid is just 21!

Wow, all four series are tied at two game apiece. Very interesting...

I'm worried about my Vatos. Sure, we finished with the second best record in the league and have arguably the league's best batter, but the team we're playing in the first round, Wyandote, has my number this year. We may have finished 22 games ahead of them in the standings, but they beat us eight games to six in the regular season. They didn't dominate us, but they certainly had a better record against us than most teams...

For the 3rd year in a row, my boys tanked the last week of the season, to loose their playoff spot. Hopefully next year will bring some relief when I finally bring some kids up from the minors.

Coffee Warlord
05-07-2003, 11:48 AM
My big FA signing and my star from last year just sucked this year. Amazing we even made the playoffs.

'Course, we're in trouble for later seasons, considering I got screwed in the draft, and only got 1 player.

pilotman, what happened to your team?

JeeberD
05-16-2003, 03:02 PM
Wow, Wyandote take out Brittany in seven games despite finishing 22 games out of first in their division and having the worst record of all the playoff teams.

Congrats to the Wolverines!
