Saddam and sons dead??!?

It's being reported on CNN that Saddam and his sons plus other members of the Iraqi ranking regime were killed in a recent bombing...

We may have finally got him.

Considering the pictures they're showing of the bomb site, if he was actually in there, I don't think we'll see any bodies being toted anywhere.

There was a report earlier that the bodies of a 20 year old female and a 6 year old were pulled from the pile.

Maybe Saddam took an offer from the US and is secretly setup in a nice mansion somewhere in Arizona or Las Vegas. :)

You go out to get your paper one morning, look over to the left and there is this Saddam looking guy smiling at you drinking a cup of coffee.

The high-ranking officials have to stay in contact. If they talk be radio/phone/cell, the US is listening in. If they try to relay messages to each other, who knows whether the messages ever arrive?

What I don't get is that there's gonna have to be a body to show, otherwise nobody's gonna believe it..........so why the 4 bunker busters? Blowing him to smithereens doesn't provide the body........

They didn't want to risk him getting away. All it takes is a drop of blood or goo to get DNA evidence that he's dead...

The problem is that his DNA doesn't prove that he is dead but only proves that his DNA is on the site.

Well, yeah, I thought that after I posted it. What I meant is if they find a body that mashed up beyond all recognition, there's still DNA. If it's just blood that they find, that's certainly inconclusive, but a whole, mangled body would be pretty certain...

But you don't think that the arab nations are going to believe just DNA evidence if it's us telling them it's a match, do you? We don't seem to have a bunch of supporters over there currently..... ;-)

A mangled body with a DNA match is good in my book. However, as far as the Arab nations are concerned, France included, I think path has a legitimate point.

Well, would you rather have dropped one bomb that may not have hit directly, allowing Saddam to possibly escape? I would hope the army would do what it did. Maybe it's overkill, but if he was in there there shouldn't be any doubt that he's dead now.
