Anyone have any experience with older players? I hear they start dropping off at around 32, but I'm wondering how dramatic the drops are, and how often they happen. I've found a really cheap, great player for transfer, but he's 33. I think if he were to remain at his current ability for the rest of this season, he'd be worth it. Any ideas on the chances of that happening?

I've got a few...one has dropped form from solid to passible...really you can get some good guys cheap to hold out until your farm system kicks in...but be really picky, and make sure their form is good...also if they're injured it takes them much longer to heal.

The rules say players start decreasing in skill around the age of 30. However, these drops are miniscule at first. I have a USA national team winger at the age of 30 who hasn't dropped in anything yet, as well as a 31 year old keeper who hasn't dropped.

Also, each skill decreases at a different speed. Scoring drops very quickly, but I've heard keepers don't start seriously decreasing in skill until the age of 35.

Thanks guys...I think I might just hold out anyways. His form is low (poor)...

But if anyone wants a Solid playmaker with Excellent stamina and Inadequate passing for 42,000, his auction ends in about an hour. Player ID# 1354267, in Polska.
