I have an interest in the Pats as my mom is from MA, but I don't follow them like I do the Niners.

You should have included a "don't have a favorite team". I don't have an option to respond to your poll.

2nd - Anyone that can beat a team that will help the Packer's playoff chances. Having a 2nd favorite team is a foreign concept to me.

I care enough. You see, I live in LA. You may not be aware of what's gone on here with respect to the NFL. Feel free to Google "Los Angeles" and "NFL". You might get a few hits.

There are about 15 M disenfranchised people around here, probably larger than most of the individual NFL markets you have in your poll.

Screw that! The Rams were "Major Leagued" to St. Louis after the Bitch Queen of the NFL ran them into the ground here, and the Raiders are a pathetic choice to continue to follow (although sadly they are still a favorite, especially in some of LA's urban neighborhoods).

Tampa Bay Bucs till the bitter end (which in this case was week 2...)

As for Los Angeles, I lived there during the departure of both the Raiders and the Rams. Both had a fan base, but most people in California seemed to pride themselves on not caring.

But there's a lot of money to make in LA nonetheless. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up stealing somebody elses team. Possibly the Jacksonville Jaguars...

I suspect we'll see the AFC East and the NFC North as the two most heavily represented divisions, thanks to a lot of Dolphins/Patriots and Packers/Bears fans on the board.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a good number of Falcons fans as well, given the number of Georgians we have on here.

It is different times. In the 70s and 80s this wouldnt have happened. When you see you favorite players from other sports going other places(Johan Santana and Kevin Garnett) you just kind of accept that things have changed.

I was wondering how I didn't know you were a 'Boys fan. I thought the only thing we had in common was an appreciation for large, beautiful boobs (on a related note, I was shocked that you haven't posted in the Top Chef thread about Gail's outfit last week...talk about drool-worthy).

haha I have only recently caught up on Top Chef. My friend I watch it with has been out of town so I was behind and didn't want spoilers. We definitely commented on Gail. My wife said "well Gail certainly found some eyelashes between last time we saw her and tonight." My friend and I just looked at each other and laughed. "Yeah, we weren't looking at her eyelashes, sorry. Maybe we'll get to those next time?"

I've always been a "Chiefs" fan, just because they were the closest team to here and red, which I thought would make it easier to root for them. I have just never gotten into the NFL, though. This season, I have slowly turned into a Cowboys fan because of Felix and the chance we had to go to the new stadium. It has worked much better, and I'm getting into it much more than I ever have. I still like the Chiefs, but I think I'm going with the Cowboys as my main. Plus, the wife is on board with this one (she never cared a whit for the Chiefs).

I was raised a Raiders fan, but I've given up on them as a franchise until Al's gone. Not because of wins/losses, but because he's a senile asshole. I could stick with them if I thought someone was in charge and at least mildly competent.

So now I just start with the teams I hate and work up. Dallas, Denver, KC, Pittsburgh - anyone but them, pretty much.

Then you should probably ignore this thread if you don't care enough to have a favorite team. :)I don't have a true favorite team either. Over the years I had some 'good if they win, nothing lost if they don't' sentiments for some of the franchises (like the Rams until they benched Kurt Warner, the Buccaneers and Ravens for the defense first philosophy), but I don't even have that right now. I just like to follow the league from a distance. "None" or even "All of the above" would work for me.

That's California loyalty. It's not the same as other places. They actually care if the team's winning or not if they are to continue to commit money to them.

In 1994, the Rams played out of the OC, so had lost a lot of their fanbase in the regular LA basin, and Frontiere had run the franchise into the ground during the 90s, more frugal than Sterling.

The Raiders were already a stolen team, as it were, but the days of Bo and Marcus were done anyway, the Broncos had Elway and the Chiefs were on their Schottenheimer run.

It's no surprise you would view the reaction as not caring, especially if you lived in LA proper and not further east.

Lions.

I was born with the curse of heartfelt loyalty. It sucks.

I refuse to be a fan of something so awful. I even looked at other typically bad teams and figured I could pick any of them to be a fan of and they would win the SB before the Lions would. My first two teams I really considered? Tampa Bay and New England.

I typically like certain players over teams. so my "favorite" team tends to change a lot over the years, ie New England ever since Brady went there. Regardless of players, Green Bay and Pittsburgh tend to be up there. When I go see my parents in Manistee, I can actually get Packer football sports talk radio.

I was -2 in 1977 so not quite that old. I was in Houston during the Warren Moon run-and-shoot days. There's no way I would follow the team of that a-hole Bud Adams out of town and I went off to school at Kansas before the Texans started so it's hard to claim them.

So, no team now. Oh well.
