Hattrick Season 40 (US)

Alright guys a new season of Hattrick is upon us. Who's still out there plugging away with me?

A couple of new changes coming up this season. Bots will now be migrated to the lower divisions and will no longer be allowed to promote. That's of interest to me since I'm debating dropping my qualifier and moving back to V because of my struggling fan base and rebuilding mode. The second change will be a new match engine which should equalize things a bit more which should cause fewer lopsided outcomes. Any thoughts?

I've been up and down between IV and V a few times though the new rule regarding bot squads will likely make it tougher. I just think it's a good idea to move back down to V simply because my squad is in a rebuilding mode and thus I'll be a middle of the pack squad for a few seasons while I'm rebuilding which will tank my fan base even further. So right now I'm leaning towards going back to V. It's silly that I have to get demoted to rescue my fan base.

I never liked that HT functionally has an incentive to move down. I understand why it is necessary, since it gives more teams an opportunity to experience a better series, but there is something dissatisfying about it. And it does me no good, since, like the good Professor, wiring does not allow me to play a qualifier to lose, even though I understand the long-term value of it.

I have got a team but was waiting for the new season to put much into it.

I pulled a 17 y/o passable striker last week. He was 17 and 55 days old. How does this work now because in the past I think ages went up one season at a time.

HT years are 112 days long, meaning your guy will turn 18 in 67 days. It is too bad that you didn't pull him 3 weeks ago when I was buying scoring trainees.

I'd toss him back out there and try again. The market usually opens up a bit right before the start of a new season.

It's ridiculously stupid. I've wasted away in IV a few seasons and pretty much killed my fan club while other teams moved down and salvaged theirs. It shouldn't work that way, but sadly they haven't fixed it. I've pretty much sold off most of my top players this season so I can rebuild...knowing I would be going back down.

Well, my brilliant plan to get demoted did not work out so well as my subs beat the higher rated opposition by a score of 2-1. Ugh. It looks like another season of wallowing in IV. I'll be using this season to rebuild so I'm guessing I'll be in relegation mode again next season. Just a quick look at the series, my squad will be battling for the 6-8 spot based on ratings.
