Alright,

I need gift Ideas for my wife...I have bought her several small things for Christmas....however I need to get her one last final present.

Here is what I can't or won't get her

Jewelry
Makeup
Perfume
Clothes

I have been thinking of a classy watch, as she only has a Nixon wristband watch that she wears and nothing to professional or classy.

We need a new Dryer but I think that will be saved for another time. We also need a new kitchen table but again I think that would be better served as a family purchase.

She hasn't dropped any hints at all...so I am in a conundrum.

Get her a gift certificate for either a salon where she can get a haircut, nails, massage, etc. or somewhere where she can get a makeover.

Big +1 on this. A half day of massage/spa treatments will do far more for her demeanor than any gift (unless you're buying her a big ass gem of some sort). Another good one is to buy her and her friends a 'Girls Night Out' at a nice restaurant while you take care of the kids.

I third the spa gift card, I don't know if casinos are her thing, but I would imagine the Niagra casino has a spa. maybe a gift card to there and you guys can do a night out after with some dinner and drinks.

I brought this up and she said her collection of pumpy pics are more than enough right now...she couldn't handle anymore..

As for the Spa thing...I totally forgot about that...she has dropped the hint she needs her hair colored again and if I can get her a full day, she would be in heaven...

Thanks for the idea!

Not sure if you have one already, but my wife loves her digital camera, and I replace it every 2-3 years as new technology becomes available. She's very big in documenting all our life events, so this is a natural gift for her.

By the way, do you have a budget in mind?

Yeah $200 is our total for a "big" gift to each other this year..

I don't mean anything crude by this. Your wife is a fine woman.

This is really only a problem if she has a Pumpy porn category titled "Don't judge me". You never know with Pumpy.

Oh and for the original thread question.

I can't help, as my wife spends more time here than I do these days.

Good thing you didn't post this on Facebook. ;)

Other than the little things, I got her some Ed Hardy perfume. It smells good.

I know you said no jewelry but you should consider a charm bracelet...pandora or chamilia. They're great because whenever you need a gift, you can go to it to pick up a couple. They have some really nice beads that are expensive and then some others that are very simple. You can make a great mix of things that are symbolic to the two of you, to just her, to you and your children if you have any, etc.

I don't ever recall that coming across when I was younger and reading those books. I did read a lot of the Hardy Boys Casefiles, tho. Which reminds me, I remember they had a pretty good trilogy that linked in with a time traveling crossover with the new (at the time) Tom Swift books- quality stuff.

Well I found out today I already bought her a present and didn't know it..it looks like we will be getting a new kitchen table, she has been wanting one and saw a sale and couldn't pass it up.

Although I am still getting her a spa gift certificate, just not as much as it was originally going to be...

It was a close guess, it was titled "Reasons Pumpy should never be introduced to mother"

Btw, if she happens to like the spa you pick, can you let RendeR know what one it is? I keep asking him for a gift certificate to a day spa for a Mothers Day gift but every year he says something along the lines of "I don't know of any spas".

I know I am not helping matters for him, but a phone call to us is all that is needed...Emilie is in the industry and scoped them all out when we first moved here...but I will tell him the best one!

Women like practical gifts.

Look around the house & note what there is that could be better. A new stove, refrigerator or microwave would make the little woman happy year round when cooking your supper. Additional updates around the house can have the added bonus of increasing the resale value of the home. Think of the love that will flow forth each time she uses the commode she found under the tree!

Merry Christmas!

I hear they also like getting a vacuum, ironing board, or other chore implement.

If that doesn't work, something like a weight loss video can send the right message.

I think they also like gift certificates to Lane Bryant.

Make sure before she gets up on Christmas morning that you sneak in & wrap the new table!

I told you women like practical gifts. My mom still talks about the year my father bought her a new stove for her birthday to replace the one that died. Of course she laughs & calls him an idiot, but that's all in good fun.
