If anyone has any pass defense stats floating around with good sample sizes I would really appreciate seeing them. Perhaps I can add and improve on this piece.

Many moons ago I was playing in a Superbowl where my opponent swapped his FL to SE and SE to FL. It totally threw off my coverage, as I was using “Orient CB by side of formation”. Since then I have always used the “Orient CB by WR covered”. My best CB will be on the WR with the highest RR. I can also double him, so this gives me the optimum chance of shutting down the oppositions no.1 WR. However, there is nothing to say that I can’t double the no.2 WR more often. If your no.1 CB is that dominating, and the WRs are close in ability you might want to do that.

FWIW, if you rex starters (always a good idea just to see how you line up with FOF's logic) and your positional BIAS is not too strong, your best player, regardless of FL/SE will play as the Flanker because FOF does not recognize that big of a difference between a player listed as FL or SE but does recognize FL as the most important position of the two on the depth chart screen.

I always use 'Orient by side of formation'. I also double the weaker CB a LOT more. So, if an opponent tries to line up their strong WR against my weaker CB, he ends up doubled a lot more. That's the best possible result for me... double the best WR and single the weaker WR with my stronger CB...
