Care to share how things have or haven't changed in 6.3 so far?

The AUFL is an interesting case because it's a historical league with less talent in general than a normal league. We've played 10 weeks with 6.2. However we played 3 weeks with 6.2, so there's some noise in the data.

That being said:

Scoring has gone up every single year: 19.4, 19.5, 20.3,20.5, 20.7, 20.8, and this year 20.9 ppg

Completion % is at 59.2, the first time ever it's been under 60%

Yards per catch are at 11.56, the first time ever above 11

Yards per attempt are at 6.85, one of the top 3 figures in history.

Yards per carry are at 4.18, the highest ever, but not by that much.

Pass defense % is at 54.1%, the highest ever and much higher than usual.

Passrush% has been around normal, but sack% is actually the lowest ever, so there must be more hurries.

Hey Guys

Here are some stats for the PFL. We converted a couple games in .

There are some differences but this IS a small sample size. I didn't do any significance testing but I think you can make a few assumptions.

Yards per Carry - Up
Completion % - Up
Short and Med - Down
Long - Up a tic
YPC and YPA are up
PD % are up
Sacks maybe down a hair but Hurries and Blocked passes up
PPG looks neutral.

Very interesting, and thanks. After only 2 weeks in 6.3, WOOF is mirroring quite a bit of that. More than stats, though, how's it "feel?" (I can check your stats any time I want. They're on my server, y'know. ;))

You did miss one stat that I've heard from other places: you've got 3.02 interceptions per 100 attempts--the highest interception rate in 20 seasons. (That's another place where WOOF is mirroring the same trends after 2 weeks. We're at 2.89 picks per 100 attempts, which would be the highest in about 10 years.)

I'll update with FLFL shortly. We converted in Week 5. That league is shutting down and probably 20 teams are on AI, so it will be a good representation of a baseline since there isn't alot of human GP involved.

My impressions.

Running game matters
Coverages matter
Larger % of crazy nutso plays: in one game had a KR TD, a PR TD, and three turnovers returned for scores.

I have not yet figured how to get to the QB, but it seems I get more push from the DT's.

Had heard that RB's were getting more receptions but I've not seen it <althought probably due more to my GP>.

Hmmmmmmmm..... PFL has YPC up and KRB down. Very early results in the WOOF are showing the exact same thing. If this is a trend, my first guess at an explanation would seem to be more big plays running the ball...

Don't know if it is of any help or interest, but I can give some SP League values with a couple more years pre/after patch.. Could be interesting to see how big the difference is depending on the number of player/computer controlled teams in a League.

Data: pre Patch (26 seasons) / after Patch (8 seasons)

Completion % (total): 62.04 / 63.71
- Short passes: 81.49 / 74.39 (a lot more attempts/yardage though..)
- Medium passes: 56.76 / 55.93
- Long passes: 31.16 / 35.31 (less attempts, less total yardage, more completions though..)

Pass Yards per Game: 235.92 / 246.04
- Yards per catch: 11.12 / 10.90
- Yards per target: 6.90 / 6.94

Run Yards per Game: 111.03 / 107.10
- Yard per Run: 4.13 / 4.33

Points per Game: 21.30 / 21.13
Interceptions (total per Season): 478.27 / 459.75
- Interceptions per game: 0.93 / 0.90
Fumbles (total per Season): 345.08 / 334.50
- Fumbles per Game: 0.67 / 0.65

QB Rating: 85.35 / 86.94
- QB with rating >100 per Season: 3.65 / 2.88

Pass Defense rating: 49.73 / 44.80

Maybe look at 10+ yard run stats?

For me, just in a very general sense...

It is harder to maintain sustained drives.
It's about bars, bars, bars.

In 6.2 (and before) defensive gameplanning didn't seem so much about bars than what coverage you were in. In 6.3(a), if you use bnr and your guy isn't good at bnr, you will get burned.

It's probably not easy to find the info, but it sure seems like 50+ (or even 40+) yard plays are far more common than before. It seems like it used to be a rare occasion to get a long TD pass or huge run.

Now, it happens a few times a game. Is this just an anomaly or did the other leagues notice this as well?

At midseason, the WOOF has only one QB rated above 100 (103.7).

Of course, this doesn't tease out how many of those were for 11 yards and how many were for 60.

I had 8, yup 8 fumbles, 3 of them lost in my HFL game. Never seen that before. :(

We just had a week in WOOF that really hammered home for me how different things are now. It was Week 11 under 6.3/6.3a. We had a league-wide QB rating of 85.7 this week--the highest week this season.

I looked back. Each of the past nine seasons has had a league-wide QB rating higher than that. We're at 79.4 for the year.

DFL is finishing up regular season and entering playoffs with a full season in the patch. If you want stats to dig around, I'd look into that...

Dynasty League, with one regular season game left on the schedule and playoffs looming, have five qb's with qb ratings of 100 or better. To me the game seems much more responsive on the defensive end... but I'm not a stat monster, I'm a much more intuitive gameplanner...
