The Pentagon is now reporting that they have seized upon a "target of opportunity" and have dropped 8 iceberg buster bombs in Antarctic waters in an attempt to kill the colossal squid. One anonymous high-level authority stated off the record that damage assessment is underway, "...but it may be days or weeks before we know if we got him."

The squid would rather sit out another year and re-enter the draft in 2004. When asked if he would even consider playing for the Bengals, he said "I'd rather be eaten alive by a whale."
