At the risk of opening this thread to an unbelievable amount of jokes, how do you like your banana?

Any bit of green and the banana tastes awful. However, if it's smothered in vanilla ice cream with hot fudge drenched over it, it tastes rather good.

You strike me as the kind of guy who has that reaction to most fruits and vegetables.
This thread has potential.

In college, some hippie girl at a party told me that bananas were going extinct becaue of a lack of diversity in the seed that corporations use to grow them. I acted all concerned, and angy at corporations because she was hot - but I wonder if she was full of shit.

Actually I've heard something similar to that. Not the corporation part, but, the bananas, as we know them today, will be gone. When? I can't remember how long before it would happen.
EDIT: Ok, according to wikipedia, it's the Gros Michel type of banana that is no longer the main (pardon the pun) banana that is being exported. The current one that you see on the store shelves is called a cavendish and is no danger of extinction.

My brother and sister-in-law are scared of them. You can peel one and chase them with it. I was eating one and they had their backs to me but immediately said they could smell it from yards away and seemed upset.

You are correct sir ... although I imagine I might have shared that tidbit at some point over the years.
I'm about as disinterested in veggies as anyone breathing, and not much more interest in fruits.

I liek bananas - no 3 on my fruit list, sometimes no 2 (mangoes are a clear no 1, cantaloupes prob no 2).

I love bananas. Though if they manage to last long enough in my house to make it beyond the "mostly yellow with hints of brown here and there" stage in my house, I let them brown up til they're ready for banana bread.

I love bananas as well! That said, I'm in the same group as TK as far as maknig banana bread.
I'm very particular about not eating the brown areas on a banana though. And it's funny...I know they're perfectly tasty (just the crystalization of the sugars), but it just weirds me out, so I'll never eat brown spots.

I like 'em all yellow. I'll eat the bits of brown, but it isn't my fav... and why do I read this sentence in my mind and think it's just amazingly dirty?

Either the second or third choice are fine with me. I like them best when the brown areas are just starting to come in as dots before they become big blotches.

A little brown, just before they get mealy. Then it's into the blender for a smoothie (the only way the kids will eat them).
