Thanks.

Hey there Issaco,
There is a lot of info and opinions that converge on this "edit weight" question.

Everyone is going to have different values.
I would make small adjustments and see how it affects a 4 year old draft class (Get a old draft stage from somebody in the league if its new to you or quick sim a few in SP). Then compare and adjust where it lines the players up (4 years later you can see how they developed other than volatility and injury).

Pos weight: "Positional weight" Is the value you place on players of a position group. Do you value QB's and Guards the same? or QB at 1.25 and G at .8 etc...? some order like QB,DE,CB,WR- RB,OT,DT,LB,S,... to FB,K,P.
You could also possibly change ratings because of, strength already on the roster, Depth of draft class, Style of team, and personal preferences. Also be aware of positional groupings like OLB vs ILB.

All Positions: set how much (if any) you value combines, bars, height etc...
I would lean towards combine data, but don't ignore bars. Personally I started with a 100 in combine and less than half bars and adjusted until the past files came close to how players turned out.

Individual combine scores and bars: Depends on the type of team you are building. This one is tough to summarize for me. Read up on which combine scores translate to which bars. Remember a few rare bars are "static" and more true than combines.

For example: a passing team with a great QB,WR combo is probably going to value a LT with high agility more than high dash... a power running team might be opposite.

gstelmak posted his weights in the other thread if you feel like digging around. I don't think anyone else has or will.

Thanks gstelmack. This is what I'm trying to find.

I confess I'm still unhappy with this, myself. I have ginned this up for a few drafts, but I still don't have it isolating on the guys I'd really draft at the very top. Right now, I'm mostly using a hand-picked list for my top pick, and when i get bored I run the Analyzer and just live with what I get (or more likely, I start peppering in one-skill affinity guys for late round picks).

Anyway... gstelmack shared a set of weightings above. Anyone else care to share pointers or actual files along those lines?

For us non-computer guys, how in the heck do you open the zip?

What zip is this? Windows should handle .zip files fine...if not, there are utilities such as http://www.7-zip.org/

I'm not sure what there is for Mac, but there must be something.

I can't open it with winzip, something to do with it being a weights file, not overly good with this kind of thing tbh

What's the file name and what is it exactly?...

The one from the link earlier DraftAnalyzer.zip when it downloads to winzip it then won't find a program to open it with or extract it ?

But before we go any further can this be used in single player mode as I also can't find any files to extract out of the game, the only place I could see it was under multi player and it said I wasn't admin lol

Yes, Draft Analyzer can be used in single player.

You have to "export data" and "export personal data" from one of the menus. I believe it's the Almanac. The links are near the bottom of the menu.

The zip file contains a file called DraftAnalyzer.weights. You can import them once you have DraftAnalyzer itself installed and open. You can open that ZIP file using any ZIP utility. I don't know why you can't, but it's not necessary for the program to run. You should really look at the entire DA thread for instructions and ask for help there if you still need anything!

Hope that helps.
