3D benchmark and stress test for graphics cards

Does anyone know of good programs to perform 3D benchmarks or stress tests for graphics cards? I looked at Futuremark's 3DMark Vantage, but are there any others out there?

It's either that one or running demos in specific games.

Do you have to purchase it, or is the free trial good enough to get a good stress test?

The free trial is a basic stress test.

What exactly are you shooting for here?

I picked up an Asus G73JH and read there were some issues with the GPU that exhibit themselves under load. Wanted to put it under load to see if anything odd happens.

Plus, I want to see just what this thing is capable of graphics-wise.
