Over at CNNSI they have a draft poll: Which position should every team select with their first pick. With about 12k votes for the NFC and 10k votes from the AFC, there are some interesting trends. (granted, these are not necessarily the smartest people in the world, but it's still kind of fun)
AFC Notes:
Top percentages:
58% Bengals and QB
52% Steelers and DB
49% Broncos and QB
3% of fans say Raiders should pick a TE. I'm one of them. :) (no, I didn't vote in the poll)
2% of people thought the Jets first pick should be used on a QB. (No Tarkus, I don't have their numbers, but I'm sure you'll track em down) :)
Only 9% of Jets voters felt a WR should be taken with the first pick. That'd probably have been where I'd have voted.
NFC Notes:
Top Percentages:
83% Bears and QB (good luck Kordell)
70% Panthers and QB (nice pick in Wienke guys)
66% Falcons and WR (thankfully, someone besides Skydog and me watched some Falcons games last year. Even with Price, they really are that bad) :)
32% of Saints voters felt they should go DB. I wonder what games the other voters were watching. This number should have been up there with the Bears and QB. 30% of the voters felt the Saints should go with offense. WOW.
34% of Bucs voters picked RB as their biggest need. Guess that big game in the Super Bowl hasn't won over the Pittman doubters.
The only 0% in either league is currently the Bears and LB.
4% of people voting for the Rams picked QB. Just what they need. . .
19% felt Seattle should go QB. Ummm. . . I'm not the biggest Hasselbach fan in the world, but he played great at the end of last year and the Seahawks desperatly need DL and LB, not way 1/5 of the voters should have QB on that list.
Cowboys breakdown had 40% for a QB. Please, OH Please take Chris Simms!!! (Denver is rumored to have interest in the second round, I think I'll cry if that happens. Before the Simms backers start screaming at me, give him a chance to prove me wrong)
