Can't find the original thread, here's another to kick off the fun again. Same rules as before, if you get it right, post another.

This should be easy I think. It's not in the US.

LOL nope. That one was epic though. Did you all end up giving up on that one, or did someone get it right at the end?

bhlloy

Well dang, I was Googling and found it but somebody beat me to it.

Once you figured out it was a church, then a basilica, it was a matter of finding a picture of one that matched.

I was hoping this would be that google game where you have to come up with a word that gets more hits misspelled than spelled correctly. This seems more like that google MAPS game.

This is a place of some historical significance, but may be tough. So I'll give a hint before I go to bed if need be.

Nice find, Izulde...what gave it away?

Izulde
07-12-2010, 10:42 PM
1) I studied abroad in Granada for a semester.

2) The Alahambra has a very distinctive shape and is high above much of the rest of the city.

3) The circle in a square building, whose exact name escapes me just now.

johnnyshaka
07-12-2010, 10:44 PM
lol...well I hope number one helped quite a bit. I assumed number three was the key distinction but couldn't find anything with my efforts.

That looks like some french Vauban defensive constructions from the 18th and 19th century.

RendeR
07-13-2010, 10:17 AM
Not a vauban, his designs always incorporated a very distinct star pattern, even along the shoreline. He also used multiple levels to ensure shooters had a "kill zone" between walls.

Izulde, think your gonna have to give us a hint here, lest it become a thread killer.
