dola- joking, kind of a parody thread, though maybe one day it will take off more once new hardware is put out by HP/Palm eh? Until then Jeebs and I can post in here.
My favorites from the App Catalog:
Notes- good 3rd party note taking app
engadget app
Digloo - A great Digg app
NewsRoom - a very nicely done RSS feed reader
TweetMe and Bad Kitty - my Twitter apps of choice
foursquare - I use the beta feed app though
Facebook for webOS - getting better all the time
drPodder - Great podcatcher app
Pandora
Flashcards - flashcard app, tons of free flashcard sets always being added to
Apps from the homebrew community or just non-catalog apps:
Preware - a must have, makes easy installing of themes, patches, and non-catalog apps
Secustore - great for keeping account info and passwords
Save/Restore - lets you save/restore data from all sorts of apps for backup
Govnah - lets you control the CPU governor for an overclocked Pre
Internals - Full featured file manager
Will end it there. I won't even get into patches I have.

Facebook app for webOS.
Ummmm?
I kind of use radio time and/or pandora I suppose.
Palm does make a pretty kick ass battery drain application, I'll give them that.
Dumping this thing as soon as I can, the way it dumps battery on me I can't use it. I've tried all the fixes/settings changes that people recommend. If the battery life was maybe 3 times as long as it is right now(less than 4 hours IMO in heavy use) it would be amazing.

You can use an old Centro battery as a backup. Cheap on eBay and the like. I have had very few problems. Running Uberkernel with the Screenstate governor set at 800 MHz (screen on) and 500 MHz (when screen off), my battery life has improved even.

I've honestly had very little battery drain problems...after one OS update it was draining pretty quickly, but they fixed that problem fairly quickly.

Stepped up my Pre a little more lately. Finally got around to installing the Verizon Mobile Hotspot (tethering) app on my Sprint Pre, and upgraded to the 1 gHz overclocking kernel.
Angry Birds came out a few weeks ago for webOS, lived up to the hype.
Speed Forge Extreme is a decent "racing on Mars" game.
Rednecks vs. Aliens is pretty good for a free game.

The webOS app thread rises once again. I will do this every time I see the others near the top. :D
Some ones I don't have above and have tried lately:
VLC Remote - um, a remote for VLC
Plickr - a Flickr app
Tom Clancy's Hawx HD - Fighter jet game
Neato! - great app, Android has something like it for Chrome but this works with any browser, basically forwards links, text, and maps to your phone.
Also, been running my Pre overclocked at 1 Ghz for a while now.
Oh, and I am making an app, so that wins all mobile app threads.
