I was wondering if some of the vets could lend me some advice. Im trying to set my lineup for todays Cup game.

I'm playing a fellow series V team. I have looked at all his past lineups and found he always plays a 3-5-2 lineup. Also his left side attack was always rated "excellent" and his central attack was rated "solid". His midfield was always weak or poor.

My major question is if I want to build up my D to counter his strong left side, do I beef up my right side? meaning is my right side vs his left side or my left side vs his left side ? This is something I an unsure of.

I play a 3-5-2, with my right wing back moved to extra inner mid fielder. The rest of my positions are at normal. Here is how my best team rated my lineup.

Lineup strength
Overall:36.89%
Left Defence:41.09%
Central Defence:35.31%
Right Defence:26.71%
Midfield:43.52%
Left Attack:38.58%
Central Attack:37.8%
Right Attack:37.28%

Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have.

When you're figuring out your left and right side attacks and defense, pretend you're the keeper looking down the field. This means that the wingback on the left side of the screen is actually your right wingback, wingback on the right of the screen is actually the left wingback, etc. etc. You get the idea.

If your opponent has a strong left-side attack, then boost your right-side defense (do NOT pull the right wingback for an extra inner mid, pull a central defender or the other wingback instead).

Thanks DataKing, thats some good stuff. I used your advice, made some changes and it raised my best team ratings in many areas.

Overall:39.22%
Left Defence:30.84%
Central Defence:36.8%
Right Defence:43.99%
Midfield:43.52%
Left Attack:42.89%
Central Attack:37.8%
Right Attack:41.64%

Wish I would have known this stuff already, guess this is a whole lot to learn.

Well, the whole 'match orders' thing is kind of screwy if you ask me. For starters, you'd think that the keeper would be at the bottom, rather than the top, so the entire formation was facing 'up' towards the opposition. As it is right now, it's all turned-around and terribly counter-intuitive.
